Hey everyone, there are some fantastic weight losses on here this week, all very inspiring so well done. I've not posted as have been uber busy at work but have been keeping up-to-date with the thread.

I weighed in tonight and was not expecting to lose as I had a sneaky peak at the scales. I couldn't weigh in last week as was working nights so thought I really must go and shock horror a loss of 2lbs!! :j

My exercise has also been down so really pleased. I have mainly seemed to eat SW quiches, salad and 0% Total with options, so want to get creative this week with the latest mag to hand. I am off out on Friday with work colleagues for cocktails and at a bbq on Saturday so am going to try and up the running to compensate. Am also going to try and post my food diary to make sure I'm getting my 1/3 superfree into my meals.

    Have a good week x

What do you think are the essential foods needed on the diet?

    Supplies I couldn't do without:
    • Sweetener (for in my tea as I like it sweet, I get Morrisons own brand as it's just as good as Canderel etc)
    • Tins of chopped tomatoes (good for making your own pasta sauces or bolognese - I tend to batch cook mine in the slow cooker & then freeze - useful for when you don't have time to cook!)
    • Alpen Lights (currently £1 in Tesco - great as a snack & they also double as a healthy extra)
    • Kelloggs Fibre Plus Milk Chocolate (because I need my chocolate fix!)
    • Morrisons Eat Smart sausages (1/2 syn each & great for fry ups)
    • Muller Lights (enough to satisfy sweet cravings sometimes, & also good for breakfast!)
    • Extra lean mince (for bolognese & making your own burgers)
    • Weetabix (because the HeB allowance for cereal feels like nothing to me, yet 2 Weetabix is the equivalent & is much more filling. Again I use Morrisons own brand - we're on a budget!)
    Mortgage: [STRIKE]08/13 £28,896.49[/STRIKE] 01/18 £0

For anyone like me that uses semi-skimmed milk & is guilty of not measuring it out properly as a HE, I've discovered today that Morrisons sell 250ml bottles of milk! So that's me sorted now, every day I'm going to fill the bottle up & then I'll know how much I'm using. I find Weetabix always soaks it up so combined with the copious amounts of tea I drink I've probably been using far too much.

Bluefire, I find Weetabix very tasty when roughly crumbled into a Muller Light yoghurt, and some fresh or frozen fruit added. Works well with All Bran too. They are the only cereals I eat, it's probably good with others. And it leaves you free to use your milk allowance for tea or coffee!

PS just back from WI and I lost 1.5 lbs so that's good, I treated myself to a bunch of red roses instead of a box of Cadbury's Roses :A
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Princess Skintalot: other things you might want to buy are:
    potatoes
vegetables, whichever ones you like, fresh or frozen or tinned but buying fresh in season may be cheaper for you
Fruit - again seasonal (tinned fruit has to be "synned" on Slimming World) so if not fresh get frozen if you see a bargain.
Cheese, either full or half fat whichever you prefer (you can eat more half fat) - if it's on special offer get all that you can because you can freeze it. I actually cut big chunks of cheese into smaller chunks, put back into the pack, and freeze, then just take out a chunk to last a few days rather than have a big piece of cheese go bad in the fridge. (I do often have half my healthy extra as milk and half as cheese)
You might want to buy any dry spices you fancy too, as they make a big difference to a meal.
Stock cubes, whichever make and flavour you prefer

I wouldn't say it's an EASY diet, but it's not too hard, it's just a case of being determined and keeping an honest note of what you are eating so you can, if necessary, spot where you are going wrong.

I believe the £9.95 covers your first week's entry as well as your welcome pack. Good luck!

    Evening everyone....
hello to the newbies :Dand congratulations to those with loses :j

Well today I ended up swapping our evening meal as when hubby got home we decided to go for a walk around the 9hole golf course... so I took a home made chilli out of the freezer and we had that(hubby with rice and me on a jacket) when we got back about 8pm -it was still syn free though ;)
the bonus being that I did 55mins on the wii fit (not including the games I played) -and then 1hr15 mins walking round the golf course oh and then I walked around the supermarket too :T
So I have ended the day having used just 0.5syn -I just couldn't get any more down me :o and have done my exercise :D
Right Im off to catch up and then off to bed... keep up the good work everyone :T

I'm going to be watching this thread with interest. The EE plan came in just before I stopped going to SW so I still have the book.

I was quite happy with the original SW plan and did mainly Red days so I never really tried the EE.

Since I left SW I have more or less followed the plan and plateaued (which is the main reason I stopped going to SW and the consultant didn't offer any help). I have stepped up my exercise and still no weight loss.

I am therefore thinking of trying EE but I cannot go back to SW because of work/college commitments so will have to do it by myself.

    Any tips/warnings/suggestions very welcome. Thanks.:)

I had to move on to having weetabix with water and adding a Muller as they just suck milk up like mad.

Not great btw but not as awful as it sounds and means I still have milk for drinks in the day.

Princess skint a lot Welcome, hope you find his thread as helpful as I have - it's good to have a group you can come and talk to, and ask questions.
My essentials are fat free yogurt (use in breakfast cereal and pudding), Alpen light bars (I use HE allowance instead of biscuits with tea in evening) fresh fruit to snack on. I also buy the mag when it comes out for ideas and inspiration.

    Morning all :D

eeeehhhh I can tell I did a fair bit of exercise yesterday :p I think I have rediscovered some long forgotten muscles :p

My EE meal plan for today is:-
    • 250ml semi skimmed (A)
    • lemon juice in warm water
    • chopped apple
    • chopped banana
    • natural yogurt
    • sliced roast beef
    • salad
    • orange
    • SW Indian curried patties
    • spiced sauted potatoes and onions (1) free if you use spray oil
    • salad
    • yogurt/cucumber dip
    • fruit
I need to fit in my (HB) -and then some syns if I can..
Its my 1st try at the patties -I have just made the mix and stuck it in the fridge... so here is hoping its another hit...

OK -whilst I remember -here is the szechuan beef recipe:-
    serves 4 -

    0.5syn on EE/original 6syns on green
    1. 1tbs soy
    2. 2tsp rice wine vinegar or white wine vinegar
    3. 0.5tsp salt
    4. 1tsp cornflour
    5. 1tbs water
    6. 1" root ginger -grated
    7. 350g fillet/rump/sirloin steak -cut into strips
    8. spray oil -(I pay for oil)
    9. 2 crushed garlic cloves
    10. 1 red chilli -chopped -(we added 2 bashed dried chillies too)
    11. good pinch chinese 5 spice
    12. 1 red pepper cut into strips
    13. 1 yellow pepper cut into strips
    14. 1tsp chilii sauce (optional)
    • mix 1-6 in a bowl
    • add beef -cover and leave in fridge for at least 30 mins
    • spray wok with oil -place over a medium heat
    • add 9-11 -cook for 1 minute
    • add beef strips and stir fry for 2-3 mins until browned -remove and keep warm
    • add peppers and cook for 2 mins -add beef back into pan with any leftover marinade and chilli sauce if using -stir fry for 1 minute
    • season with black pepper and serve...
At this point I tipped it into a wok of stir fried veggies and cooked for 1 min....it was yummy.....
Jollearae -let me look in my books as that sounds familiar...but I might be confussing it with something else :p
    Right off for now..
Have a great day everyone :D
