Mushy pea curry, sounds ominous! Does it really need the sweetner? Ok, that's my last question for today. :D

No Zippy the sweetener can be left out of course! However, in many many years of making Indian dishes and them never QUITE tasting like restaurant food (even leaving aside the question of no fat/oil ;) ) I've discovered that the simple addition of a teaspoon of either fake or real suger makes sooooooo much difference! If you don't like fake use a spoonful of real, if it serves four it is negligible syns :A
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

oh and ive been searching and searching for the mushy pea curry recipe and cant find it :(

24.4.10 at 6.07 am posted by Consultant - I searched the thread and found it but can't work out how to separate it from everything else the search found!

I keep meaning to say (in case you're all wondering) I stayed the same at weigh in today which was more than ok as I've been taking throat medicines all week and they are all really sickeningly sweet. Well done to all the losers, I'm not too envious this week :)

thanks for the crisp and sweetener info guys:j I know what you mean about the sugar but would add sugar rather than sweetener. Quite opposed to sweeteners and the like :) Thank you!

How you would link to that single post is -open the post up in front of you. Look in the top right corner of the post and you will see a number (in this case, the post number in this thread is 242) . Right click on that and select copy link location - then when you paste it it shows only that post rather than the whole thread . Makey sensey?

So click here and you will see that one single post :)

Evening all - I was too grumpy to post on here yesterday;). WI - hmm well - the 4.5 lbs that I lost last week, I've put 4 lbs back on apparently! It was my * week, so I was expecting one or two pounds - but 4!?!? And the irritating thing is that I stuck to the plan. Wasn't very well, so have to admit I barely moved from the sofa after Thursday night's election hoopla - so hopefully now I'm feeling better it should all melt back off again;)

Your friend is sort of right - you may well put on a little bit this week, but comfort yourself in the knowledge that it will only be temporary as your body will retain a little extra water to protect your muscles from damage while the level of exercise you're doing is new.

Also. don't forget to measure yourself (bust, waist, hips) as your shape will change - probably dramatically if you keep up the exercise. You'll look gorgeous in no time :D

Thank you for your reply consultant31
I asked my team leader at sw & she said that it was just a myth, a pound is a pound whether it be muscle or fat, I don't think she was really listening to what I was trying to say

So I asked the trainer at the gym & he said that whilst fat does NOT turn to muscle, you could gain weight whilst building you're muscles up/ strenghtening them, but if I am enjoying a low fat healthy eating plan then that shouldn't be a problem for long & I should still lose weight. He did warn me not to under eat though as this could strip muscles away quickly as the body will burn your muscles.
I also found out that muscle burns more calories than fat & increases metabolic rate, so in the long run like you said, it should pay off :)

By the time I'd finished chatting to the guy I only had time to run 4miles today, but then went for a walk later on to make uo for it :D

Thank you to everyone that welcomed me & congratulated me on my loss, I hope you all have a brilliant week losing & encouraging each other.
If anyone needed spurred on they should of been at my class last week, omg I was so repulsed at what our leader brought in, yuk she had 1/2lb, 1lb, 1 1/2lb bags of fat (puke city) it was gross, I don't know what it was, animal fat of something, but it felt horrid & you'd be surprised how much 1/2lb weighs, it's quite heavy, I always viewed 1lb as a tiny speck/cell but it is far from that, I was amazed & repulsed at the same time lol

Qu: Does anyone know the value of Asda own Vitality Banana & Toffee cereal bars? I could only find the actual vitality cereal on the syns online calc. You get 6bars for 74p.

It's the ASDA wholemeal pitta but someone commented that they believed it no longer was - but I've checked before posting this and it is still listed at the bottom of the HEBs on the website (diary page) - goody!:j

It is if you can find it, but it appears that it's being discontinued by ASDA :(
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Here you go, to save you searching further:

    Mushy pea curry
    3 cans of mushy peas
    1 can of baked beans
Onions and mushrooms (as many as you like)
    1 tablespoon of sweetener
    Curry powder to taste
    Fry light

Brown the onions and mushrooms in Frylight then add all the rest of the ingredients. Cook gently for 20-30 mins.
If you find the mixture too thick add a drop of water.
Serve with boiled rice or as a filling for baked potatoes.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
