Hi All
Thought i might join yous if that is ok?:j
I did SW some time ago and it really worked, only life has got in the way (redundancy, unemployment, illness, the list goes on!) so i need to start being sensible and lose a bit of weight again
I have the old books for green red and mix2match, so was going to stick with that , but might try out the EE for some variety too
I don't buy much pre packaged stuff (try not to anyway) so am struggling to think how you would work out HM bread etc - i make mine half wholemeal half white. Is it as laborious as adding up the quantity for each ingredient, then dividing by the number of portions to work out the syns?:o Or do you just sub 57g of home made brown and use it as a HEB?
Not sure how EE will go for me as i love bread and i love cheese, so suspect i may feel a little deprived not having both. I will give it a bash and see how it goes though:o
Am 25 pages into this thread:eek::D
Don't think the classes are for me - want to see if i can do it on my own using the older books. The only one i am really missing i think is the new EE specific one.....
Bought a SW mag today to inspire myself.Might treat myself to a bag if crisps later on (my downfall)
Can someone confirm - are roasted chickpeas free ? Roasted with a little oil (oil being synned). They are so yummy and addictive it seems to good to br true that they are free
I bought whoopsied chicken today with bacon and cheese - reckon it is 11 syns but can i take 6 syns off that for the cheese HEA? No idea what made me buy it, I never buy stuff like that.....
off to make some quorn chilli for tomorrow, and i think i will have a quorn sausage sandwich as I am starving!:D
Also , are bananas kind of frowned upon?I just get that impression !
ZipA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Hey guys,
Lost 1.5lbs last night!!! Was hoping for 2.5lbs but its ok.
Actually trying out red days for a change! Today is:
B - 3 quorn sausages
L - Sliced Chicken & Quorn pieces (was supposed to have brocolli & cauliflower in passata but was really busy and went into a meeting!
D - HM burgers with roasted butternut squash, brocolli & cauliflower in passata & might have courgettes & aubergine roasted (never used to like it but roasted with garlic it is now becoming a staple in my house!) Might have burger in wm roll (heb) with some bacon & ff cottage cheese depending on how hungry i am - which im not at the mo! Strange, i'm normally starving on green/ee days! Must be all the protein
Supper - Scan bran with white choc option quark (2.5) which i done yesterday and loved! If don't have roll as heb might have a hifi bar - then either animals (6) or bueno (1 stick = 6)
Drinks = coffee with milk (hea) & dr pepper zero
So many decisions!
Fingers crossed for all those who WI this week & congrats to all who have already!0 -

Tomorrow I am going to sign on at a local SW - so watch out for me here!
I have done SW before, but last time I went for six weeks and didn't lose a lb, it was just so demoralising, as I was doing everything to the book, honestly. So I gave up. I'm about the same now as I was then (about four years ago) so I guess that's not too bad, but I'm hoping the new EE menus might help me.

If you filled in your food diaries and showed them to the Consultant who said you were doing everything right, you would have been able to claim all your money back after the first month with no weight loss. It's never been done because there has never been a recorded case of anyone not losing after following the plan 100%, soooooooooo, (and I'm not trying to be awkward here honestly), but you must have been doing something wrong somewhere
This time, make sure that you write down absolutely everything that you consume and make sure your Consultant looks at it and gives you some fedback. You will lose weight if you do it properly I guarantee it - more importantly, Slimming World guarantee it or your money backI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

I'd love to try SW but can't get to meetings due to mobility problems and cannot afford to join online (have to pay upfront too much).
Thought I might try getting the starter booklets from Ebay so I can read through and see what I think but......
There are so many versions on there!
I would like the most up-to-date I could afford (some look like they are from the 80's :rotfl:) and am really interested in the Extra Easy.
Can anyone tell me what booklets to look for?
I am thinking the Optimising with the strawberry on the front is older than the one with the green colour?
The Ebay sellers seem to put 2009 or 2010 for both sorts and I am confuzzled!
Can anyone sort me out and tell me what to look for? Many thanks!
As someone else has already told you, the newest book has a slice of lime on the front. The pack also has an Extra Easy menu planner which will no doubt be very helpful for you. BUT (and it's a big but) please please reconsider going to a group at least once to join, get the pack and an explanation of the plan. It will cost you £9.95 and you will get everything you need whereas on eBay, I have seen the pack go for as much as £40, honestly it's such a rip-off and makes me very angry
I understand you have mobility problems, but the venues are usually church halls or similar and therefore disability-friendly and you will be made most welcome once you're in. You needn't attend more than the once but you will save yourself a lot of money and help to stop the money-grubbing scammers on eBay at the same timeI let my mind wander and it never came back!0
