  • Just an update.

I received my HTC Desire from MobilePhonesDirect yesterday, they said they were expecting stock on the 6th but must of got some delivered early.

Haven't had a chance to play with it yet but at least it is here!

Spoke to mobilephonesdirect on their live chat who said that is the stock that was supposed to arrive on the 6th and their next batch will arrive in 2 weeks.

Ordered mine on 24th July so looks like I'll have to wait till then.

I ordered mmy phone on the 15th of July so I guess there was a queue of people and you just missed out. Fingers crossed they get additional stock soon.

Balls. I ordered from mobilephonesdirect on 1st august and was told 6th august. Still says pending stock on my order so it looks like another couple of weeks.
My pac expires on the 7th, don't want voda to charge me another £25 and then my desire turns up in one week.

just off the phone to T-mobile and was offered just what's on their website. How does anyone get anything different? I asked to add a second line but that was just as dear as we're paying now.

I guess my first mistake was going through upgrades and not retentions but I've tries them months ago and it was just the same.

    Does anyone have any tips?

The deals you get offered for upgrades will depend on who you speak to, just keep trying until you get someone prepared to offer you a good deal. If you can't get one then cancel your contract, retentions will try and offer you something good to keep you as a customer and if that fails then just get a deal from a third party site as a new customer and port your number out and back in again.
I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?

Ok this is what you do! You upgrade on t mobile through a reseller and get a much better deal like i did! I saved alot of money nearly £250 over the 2 years by not upgrading direct through t mobile! I went through buymobilephones.net t mobile upgrades! Other options are chitter chatter and upgrade expert

Wouldn't say that. Theres been a few 12 month contracts with free desire on here and elsewhere but they are expired. And, with a new model out in 2 months the price should drop

Slightly off topic - new model out in 2 months? Any idea what it's called / specs etc?

    Cheers

I *think* it is being touted around as the Desire HD (it seems the HD postfix is the "must do thing" nowadays)

Thay deal is terrible i got 600 mins 500 texts unlimted 3gb net and landline calls for £21 with free desire than galaxy s! I got offered your deal for same price on 18 months

I just saved a £5 a month, got unlimited texts, and a free handset, too. Your deal is 40% more a month - apples and oranges.

I only use ten minutes a month talk time, and was initially offered the Desire for £70 on my old, inferior contract upgrade. Once I flog my G1 for approx £50, I'll only pay £12.91 per month for the service/handset. Quite how that's 'terrible', I'm not sure...

Its terrible because I got offerred your deal on 18 months so in that sense it wass bad but if you only use 10 mins talktime then its good
