I'm tempted by that.. just to get the up to date versions of everything. The 2 user thing puts me off though... 4 of us use Office in this house.. a PC and 3 laptops.

Unfortunately, in Office 2007 the only 3 user licence to the best of my knowledge and from reviewing the microsoft office site is for the home and student edition which is a cut-down version of office. I don't believe they have ever permitted 4 installations so slapped wrists. Installing too many copies can result in not getting all the critical updates in the extra copies even though it appears to download them via microsoft update. It will treat them as pirated copies and only 'appear' to update.
Part 5c of the MS Office terms states
    c. If the software is not properly licensed, the functionality of the software may be affected. For example, you may need to reactivate the software, or receive reminders to obtain a properly licensed copy of the software, or not obtain certain updates, upgrades or services from Microsoft

For those unsure about whether MS Office 2010 is right for them, they can download the free trial beta copy from microsoft. http://www.microsoft.com/office/2010/en/download-office-professional-plus/default.aspx

This is the final pre-release beta so should be as bug free as the final version.

For anyone questioning the amount of users allowed, please see the following link as this is a subject many people have been misled on by sales peeps in certain high street computer retailers http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/HA102333141033.aspx?pid=CL100796341033

Mac has always been a year later, so would expect the trend to continue for 2010 (so 2011).

Ooh wow this is fantastic news!!! Do you know whether it's a limited time offer or will it be on for a while, as we don't get paid till next weekend so can't afford to buy it before then?

Thanks this is a great offer. I already have had Office 2007 for the past two years, so would that mean buying it again to get the free upgrade?
