I skipped breakfast and went straight on to reheating roast beef dinner from yesterday yummy! I'd spend £250 by about 3.30pm!!

I think tho - knowing I don't have to go to work for another week made me feel more inclined to get stuff done. Planning a lazier day with DD tomorrow as DS will be back at school and OH will be back at work but she's off.

I might even take the kids swimming at the gym this week - even if I sit on the side...

    Hi guys

Much more relaxed day. Got up late again. Helped DD tidy her room. Played with the kids and then nipped to shop - to get a school bag for DS and pick up a couple of new bins for my new look kitchen (£25 each EEK) - will see if OH likes them before making a decision whether or not to keep them. We have swing bins at the moment which are practical but don't look great... He is also fed up of the bin lid getting so dirty and wants us to have a lid that comes up before you put the rubbish in. I got one in red and one in dark green - one of those metal round ones 30 litres...

I have also taken the kids to the gym swimming - and found that by using a float I could still swim with my legs without causing my arms problems so that is a way forward at least... I might try and go back to the gym more as I do think that part of my insomnia actually relates to having more energy that I am using... !

I did buy one of the drawer sets for the lounge but it is too big so will need to take it back...

Well OH is now home having had a happy few hours using a digger on behalf of a friend!

He approves of the new bins which are actually red and black - I thought the second one was green but it is still nice and fits the space. Makes my bin area look "posh" if that's possible!

I also got a 3 tiered floor standing bathroom tidy for £13 and have now thoroughly cleaned my ensuite (the bits DS missed) and fit most of the stuff that was in there in the new "tidy". It was one of those things that once I had it in place it was like "doh why did I never do this before"! I still have a box of stuff to sort out tho... as I have a habit of buying for too much when its on offer and then having nowhere to put it! I have to keep telling myself - no need to buy any more shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc for the next few months!!

Really trying to make my home as clutter-free as possible before my operation. Hopefully that way it will be easier to keep things nice - even when I'm not allowed to do anything in the first few weeks after it. I am having an abdominal hysterectomy - not nice, scary in fact but there we go!

I now seem to have loads of energy - and since I can't really read or watch a programme without getting over-emotional I am redirecting it to sorting out my house which will be good once I've finished (if we ever get to that point)!

    Hi Guys

Well today brought another trip to the doctors. I am now on valium  to see if that can get me to sleep but still enable me to get up at a decent time.

I took the chest of drawers back that I bought yesterday, and me and DD had a chippy dinner (tut tut for my diet):p. I lost 0.5lb last week - not great but pretty good considering how naughty I've been LOL. A friend came round for coffee and chat and brought her granddaughter for DD to play with. That was nice, I feel like I've got friends again whereas at one point last year I was feeling very isolated.:)

I went back to Ikea tonight - I took £66 worth back but came home having spent £131!!:eek:On the bright side DS has a new mattress, mattress protector and a couple of fitted sheets. I have 2 spice rack drawer inserts for my kitchen and bought a couple of rails to hang hooks from. They were out of stock on the magnetic knife rack so I will have to go back for that.

For some reason I bought some knives, scissors and a metal cotton bud holder, not totally sure if I will keep them. I also bought some of those hanging organiser things for inside a wardrobe and some drawer inserts for those as DS nicked the ones off me that I'd originally bought for our wardrobe.I also came home with a new 3 photo picture frame and a drawer insert for my existing expedit bookcase... Also not completely sure about them... I also bought a plant to brighten up my living room (antyrhinum with red leaves/flowers) in a white put and bought another for the table I've put in the bathroom.

DS is very excited about his new mattress, when I've finished the coffee he made me as soon as I walked through the door:beer:, I will go and inspect. I told him all the thanks I want is a tidy bedroom:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

If I lose another half a stone I will be at a bmi of 30. When I started my diet I was at 36 and I am now at 31 so that is a great improvement! I need to remotivate myself diet-wise tho as I have been slacking this week - having said that I think that is quite normal when you are having a holiday, even if it is a stay-cation! While I can't say I would be proud of my figure in a bikini - I think I will be wearing one when we go to Majorca.... I wouldn't have done with how I looked in January.

My friend brought round the photo shoot photos earlier on a disc and they look lovely so need to decide which of them to print and what size etc

Crikey SH, would you like to come do my house if you finish before your op? :) I have finally been to Ikea, DH took me yesterday and I can now understand the fascination with the place!! If we'd of had money I can guarantee it would of been spent! :) I loved the living room sets, with the cupboards and tv stand etc Need to measure the front room etc so I can know what will/wont fit, we're not close to buying anything as want to wait until we've got rid of all cards and loans, which fingers crossed will be next year :D

Well done on the weight loss too, you've done brilliantly xxx

Thanks Bevan - nice to see you back on my diary... How are things with you?

Well today I took a load of things to the tip. At my DD's request I bought her a chippy lunch again.:p I didn't have one tho. I also took a big bag of DS's old clothes to a friend's house for her son.:money: DD also spent time playing with a couple of her friends which was nice

I also went to Dunelm and spent about £35 on some pillows and things but having done my banking tonight and got a nasty wake up call  - I will take at least £10 of that back. I will also be taking back about £30 worth of stuff to Wilkos - some solar lights and an apron. I would take some Ikea stuff back but its too far to go right now... I also have a £12 thing to take back to Next... :money:

OH has spent £195:eek: on his motorbike which hasn't helped - I thought he was due to spend more, but had only spent about £100 so far so that was a shock.

My cashback CC bill arrived last week and needs paying by 10 May - but the bill was £1800 :eek:which is too much really to pay from one month, I was hoping it might just tip into next month's bill but no it got me on about the last day before the statement was sent out!:o I do have an overdraft facility which we use to some degree most months anyway, but I may need to extend it so that we can pay the CC off. But I get paid on the 18th and OH gets paid on the 20th so on one level its not too big a worry.

I think the valium has worked ;) - in that altho I didn't sleep well last night, I suddenly felt really tired at teatime today - whereas for the last week or so I have felt completely wired and frenetic - almost manic (and have spent money accordingly which is not great). I do wonder whether that was a side effect of the temazapan. Apparently temazapan works by literally relaxing your muscles which is why I felt like I couldn't move in the mornings!:o Now I've switched to valium, I am hoping that I will get a decent night's kip and still be able to get up in the morning as it works differently - it would be great if I did. At least I was able to get up today which was good.

I said to my OH we need to be really careful between now and payday as we have been overspending - and he smirked at me and was all gloating  - kind of I wondered when you'd realise. Wouldn't the grown up thing to do be to check the bank account for himself and then say - Can we afford this? Could we take some of this back and buy it a different month if we really still need it? rather than gloat. I don't get him at all.... I'm doing the best I can even when I'm not in the best of health and he just wants to gloat if I occasionally get things wrong!:mad::mad: We wouldn't be doing as well as we are if it was left up to him!

I've also realised that I forgot to order a repeat prescription in time - so will need to ask at the pharmacy for an emergency dose on tramadol and cocodamol which is irritating. I'm hoping they will be okay about it.

I think I can extend our overdraft online so I think I will do that. I also set up a brand new ISA tonight :money:- and despite this blip - which actually is more to do with paying for a holiday all at once and transport bills - than my incidental spending - generally we are doing much better.

I've extended our overdraft facility - so from that point of view - crisis over. I won't tell OH tho and hopefully that will mean he won't spend extra. I will still try and reign in our spending - but based on my spreadsheet forecast - we should be pretty much okay again by June - it is just the impact of the holiday hitting all at once that's been the big issue. Hopefully we can now get back on track tho.

Lots of spending going on at the moment sh! It can be very hard to resist in IKEA though. The odd thing here and there and before you know it theres 50 quid gone.

Question is .... would he be able to any better if he managed the finances? Probably not.
