Learning to live my dreams not trample on them

Hi guys

:TThanks to everyone who has supported me since I joined MSE. :T

I am about to start a new local temporary job for about the next 11 months or so. I am also in the process of setting up my own coaching business (evenings and weekends) and would like to write a book(s). I am also married with two kids and am currently £11735 or so in debt. When I joined in July 08 our debts were double that, and in the past have been more than £33K. Before MSE we also hid a lot of debt in our mortgage

Our minimum credit/loan payments are currently less than £200 which is fantastic! I hope with a certain amount of self discipline to pay off around £800-£1000 a month which should be doable if we are committed enough. At the moment though the list of things OH and I would like to buy is growing very fast!!

My goal is to "live my dreams and not trample on them" - I therefore recently resigned a better paying job that was too far away to take a lower paid job close to home and decided to restart my coaching business.

As part of that over the next year I aim to:

a) get debt free
b) fund my business set up costs while working
c) grow my business in the evenings and weekends through blogging, twitter etc, affiliate links and coaching so that when this job ends I can do coaching full time or at least only do other work part time

I do enjoy studying so am interested in an MA in Creative Writing and becoming an NLP Master Coach etc (the list goes on) but these are all expensive things to do - and I think for me may be a form of procrastination! Perhaps I need to get on and do rather than have a bit of paper giving me permission.... I think I need to resist the temptation to do courses costing more than a few hundred pounds until after I am debt free. So please feel free to help me stay on the straight and narrow there....

My diary covering the last year of so can be found here

Our debts all currently at 0%: approx £11735

Car: £4000 Family loan - want to start paying something
A: £3159 This needs to be paid by Xmas or moved as 0% expires
B: £2856 This needs to be paid by Xmas or moved as 0% expires
C: £1640 This needs to be cleared by July or moved as 0% expires
D: £80 This is £40 per month and will be cleared in June

I hope you decide to join me on my journey to debt freedom. :A

Hopefully we are now on the home strait and have learned "our lesson" although I have to admit temptations are looming strongly at the moment - particularly around new clothes, new hair (ie styling, more expensive colours, more frequent visits), expensive dental work and holidays!!!!

PS Did fall off the wagon for a while adding about £3k of debt but hopefully now back on track! Have joined the gym as a family end August as also want to be fit and healthy enough to enjoy life more and live it to the full!

Hi guys! Thanks for following and posting!

Well DD is making handmade party invitations. She is so excited about having a bowling party!... She has only even had parties at home before so I thought for this year only she could have a party at a venue. It also makes it a lot less stressful for me as the parent!;) She is only inviting 5 friends so shouldn't be too expensive!

We went in next together yesterday - she told me she had never ever tried clothes on in a shop before!!!! She is nearly 7. So I let her try on about 10 outfits but we didn't buy anything. :money:I am hoping that her grandparents might buy one of the dresses tho - it was £19!!! But she is a very girly girly girl and lives in dresses if she can. In our wonderful April weather she is currently wearing a backless sundress as you do!:rotfl:

DS and I are about to walk into town. He is going away on a Youth trip soon and a lot of his "leisure clothes" have holes in so need to get him some new stuff.... I did check out the store yesterday so shouldn't be too bad. We will be going to Sports Direct and hopefully getting things at about a third of normal prices. He gets most of his clothes second hand for free from family and friends but occasionally I like to treat him....

Let's hope I don't spend too much:money:I am hoping walking will be an extra disincentive to buying too much!:rotfl:

Popping in to say hello. Might have to pick your brains about the coaching business at some point. I want to start up running parenting Courses. I do it in my job but I know that people will pay privately too.

Seeing as I've just learnt how to subscribe- I have!
