hi mags, cmd, btd, bz and gill! and my other readers

Today went really well. Left home about 9.30am and home for 5.35pm having picked up DD as worked a slightly short day today. Everyone seems nice and friendly and desperate to have me on board as they are so busy! Until the work transfers to me - I can't get a handle on whether I will find it really busy or not...

I have spotted some things already I would do differently that I think will improve the service and efficiency so that cheers me up - and they seem open to ideas so that's good!

Still waiting for my revised paperwork - don't know why I am surprised!

I think the job is definitely going to be good from a work-life balance perspective. Mileage rate is good too LOL

Thats what's really important after all, its part of why you packed in the previous job.

    Glad it seems ok

    Thanks Gill

Well off to two bases today meeting some more of my colleagues. Hopefully it will go well and I will also get some much needed peace and respite in the car! It can be a bit much to be just full on reading and meeting people when you first start.

The kids are about ready for school so need to get myself in gear and take them. I should then be able to come back here, finish getting ready before setting off as altho it is a bit of a trek today, I only have to be there for 10 again which is definitely easier... Tomorrow will be my first day in my home base.....

Ideally I should take a packed lunch or something but must admit haven't got the energy or motivation for that yet... perhaps next week. Still considering walking in tomorrow but we'll see...

Right I am off to get the kids in the car and start my day properly now!

Hope you all have a good day!

Hi well I was about half an hour later than planned into work this morning but it didn't seem to matter luckily. My boss was also off sick so stayed in the one location today. Still back home with the kids for 6pm.

I have a good feeling so far about the job so hopefully all will be okay. They certainly seem very family friendly. Apparently there are no core hours whatsoever! Life could get interesting with that one LOL!

Liking the sound of no core hours. It's kind of the same with me. Putting an hour in at 9pm when there's nothing on telly and having a bit of a lazy morning works for me! Hope it continues to go well.

Hope you manage to make your money stretch long enough 365!

Reality check time! :eek:I have been checking my bank account, I think it is going to take me a little longer to get straight from the last few months than I anticipated.

OH just got paid and there is only £150 left in that account. I need to move at least £1400 to our other account to meet the bills and have a £915 cash back credit card bill that I will only be able to pay £115 :(off rather than paying in full! That £915 did include my car insurance of £246 and some setting up business costs... Most was food, petrol and some frittering!

Our overdraft limit is about 2.5K I think we are going to be close to £2K:eek: in the red before I get paid for the first time. I think it is going to take 3 months or so for us to get reasonably straight from where we are now and that is before spending any money on my 40th!:o

It is a shame as we had pretty much cleared our overdraft.... before I hurt my knee and went off sick. A month without any money waiting for this job to start hasn't helped either....

    Right bye for now....
