  • Back to more upbeat stuff... My OH asked me last week what I wanted from the gym for him.... something like Stallone or what (joke) I said oh no the Jason Statham look would do me... :rotfl:Stallone doesn't do it for me....

Anyway he has only gone and told the fitness instructor doing his programme... He has set him a diet and fitness regime which he says could get him there in a couple of years time!! Woohoo - wouldn't that be something to look forward too.....:j:j:j

Strangely I haven't asked him the same question in reverse but I think if I did he would request something like Sandra Bullock or Angelina Jolie..... I am probably a few years (if not forever) away from that look too!!!:rotfl:

Hi gill - if you think that's funny now - just wait until you've met us - then you will really be laughing!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously - I just asked OH the question and he said he's not that keen on Angelina ;)- and that he would probably just point to our wedding pictures.... (very unlikely I could get back to that either - I was at least 5 stone less than I am now at that point):o

Oh well today at the gym I managed
5 minutes on cross trainer level 3 (with lots and lots of embarassing breaks) at about 45-51 rpm
5 minutes on the treadmill at speed 2.6 and incline of 15
10 minutes on the rower at 25-28rpm on level 10 (top) with a break half way through
15 minutes on the bike mostly at level 4 about 60+ rpm and then 3 mins level 1 at 60+rpm

Today was okay. OH cycled 17 !!!! miles to work but was offered the pool car to come home in and go to work in tomorrow. I will then need to pick him up tomorrow night which is okay.
    Nice work DH! :)
I just got a sad phone call - OH's uncle has just died. He had prostate cancer. It was expected but still sad. MIL couldn't get the words out - I had to guess... Problem is OH is out and MIL is miles away and I am home alone with the kids so not a lot I can do in the way of comforting her... I hate feeling helpless like this...:( She has got one of her grandson's staying over so she isn't complete alone but her other son is out and uncontactable and my SIL is abroad...
    :(

    Hi savingh.

You are doing really well, the most important thing is that you've started! And getting off that 5st is not impossible. Four years ago I used to work with a girl that was bit round, last time I saw her last year, she'd lost a lot of weight and a friend who I saw last night and works with her, said she's very slim now. I'd like to see it, she's done really well for herself and I'm glad for her even though she never was my favourite person.

Just keep at it and the weight will come off. Another thing would be to find an active hobby that you really like, that'll then make you want to do exercise. I'm not too fond of the gym myself, I'm ok for a bit and then get bored.

  • Sorry to hear about OH's uncle. Hope OH's mother is feeling a bit better today.

You are doing really well with the exercise and going to the gym. I am not a gym lover myself but I walk everywhere and have a big hill to climb up with the buggy every day so that allows me to eat chocolate and maintain the weight!
