    Hi DC, jellie and Tirl!

The part is about £26 so if he can fit it himself shouldn't be too bad... The biggest problem is waiting for it to arrive and OH getting to work in between. He was out really early this morning but isn't back yet as he had a lift from a senior manager LOL! A bit of a shame as I would have liked to go to the gym... May go after DD is in bed...

Got my hair coloured today for £26.5 - they charged me £36 for the same thing last month so it was a relief!

MG's book arrived today, not had time to look at it properly yet....

Which book did you get from MG? I keep forgetting to check my books at work to see if she wrote any of them!
Glad the haircolour was cheaper than expected!

  • Well my tada list for today
    • Got up etc
    • Took DD to school (and get stuck in gridlocked traffic)
    • Worked a short day
    • Went to hairdresser to get colour done
    • Picked DD up from after school club
    • Got DS to empty dishwasher
    • Waited for OH to get up and then took DS to the gym - I did 30 minutes plus rests!
    • Got an instructor to give DS a proper programme - he says DS is quite fit just needs focus and regular exercise. He says DS's diet is not the problem which is encouraging...:T
    • Went to asda took the shoes back that didn't fit, bought DD some trainers and found a couple of shocking pink flannels for £1 that I am going to tell her are little girl sized sweat towels LOL
    • Got DS to have shower while I made him tea
    • We are having jacket spud, tinned salmon in marie rose sauce and araminto cherry tomatoes
    • Now catching up on MSE... and free bingo
    • I have of course packed the ruddy dishwasher again :rotfl:too and switched it on....

Thanks for your thoughts on that BZ and SH. It seems we are in agreement. I definitely think outlook on life is important. Many of the ideas in these kind of books often seem based on Christian principles in some ways. It seems to me that the people who are using them successfully often have a positive outlook on life, look for the things to be grateful for and because they are often generous to others with time and help often find others unexpectedly help them. I'm not sure I'm making any sense as I'm thinking 'out loud'
Yeah, I think the thing with books like that is that (rather obviously) they're not often read by folk who aren't already trying to make changes in positive ways, and are open to help/guidance/positive/constructive criticism...so they're almost more likely to receive/make good things happen on that basis alone? And if they were looking for anything more extreme/diverse they would probably be looking in another section of the library/bookshop, iyswim?
I think I might be rambling now tho ;)

Glad the part wasn't expensive for the bike but unfortunate you might have to wait for it awhile, hope it comes soon.
Hairdresser was much cheaper this time round, any idea why? Obviously very helpful. I won't afford to go and get my hair cut this month, hopefully I'll get sorted moneywise next month and can afford my usual things again.

I refused the blow dry which would have been at least a tenner so that helped Tirl

Today was okay. OH cycled 17 !!!! miles to work but was offered the pool car to come home in and go to work in tomorrow. I will then need to pick him up tomorrow night which is okay.

Worked a relatively short day today. Bought some of the M&S dine in for £10 deals - got 6 which gives you a discount on the wine on top of the discount from the £10 deals... Saving the wine for xmas pressies but means we can have some lovely meals this week - and put some in the freezer! Yummy!

OH has just gone to his gym induction and I am hoping that me and the kids can go to the gym and do a bit tonight too

  • Yippee to M&S offers. I think they are generally really good value, if you discount the cost of the wine, you have a meal for around £6 - of course it depends on the portion sizes, but in our house they last a few days. As you say, wine is useful for presents.

**makes note about wine*** People often give me wine as gifts, but I only drink it when other people are visiting, so need to make sure that any I give as presents isn't the wine they originally gave me:D

hi gill - yeah I had moussaka tonight there's loads left. OH and the kids had gammon. We shared one set of deserts plus strawberries between 4 of us and the wine is safely upstairs ready for hamper making....

I just got a sad phone call - OH's uncle has just died. He had prostate cancer. It was expected but still sad. MIL couldn't get the words out - I had to guess... Problem is OH is out and MIL is miles away and I am home alone with the kids so not a lot I can do in the way of comforting her... I hate feeling helpless like this...:( She has got one of her grandson's staying over so she isn't complete alone but her other son is out and uncontactable and my SIL is abroad...
