Hi guys thanks for posting!
I have spent the last few days reading memorygirl's make do and mend threads !! Very inspiring
As a result - I have cleaned out a whole 2 drawers of my freezer, packed and unpacked the dishwasher, cleaned the kitchen and am about to start on my lounge - pretty good for me!
I am also thinking about what positive visualisations I can give myself to help make my dreams come true.....
Both kids have got friends over, and we have other friends coming to tea so busy day - as I was also leading sunday school this morning and OH was playing in the worship band!
PS I have also done one lot of washing but really need to hang it out on the line now and start the next lot!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well done on the freezer sorting.

hi Gill - yeah I just realised I still had things on the line... - so brought 4 tops in to finish drying over night but left the rest on the line ROFL
House downstairs looks reasonably tidy... Found the CC I had lost and reordered last week - typical but at least I know that no-one else has been using it!

I have decided to join the one debt versus 100 days challenge although I am cheating but sticking 2 debts in there!!
I need to pay BOA 2773 and PO 2892 by xmas as the 0% deals run out on both then....
I am hoping that by putting it on here it will make it easier to stick to and I will be able to resist temptation better!
I am having £600 worth of help towards this from MIL as birthday present for OH's 40th! And my mortgage has just gone down by over £500 a month from August so just hoping bank of England rate doesn't rise any time soon as we have been on a really high fixed rate up until now!
If we keep our jobs should be tough but doable...
Aim in September to repay
£1700 to po
£28 to Boa
(plus £27 to another card plus £100 to Student loan)
Aim in October to repay
£1192 to po
£150 to boa
(plus £27 to another card plus £100 to student loan)
Aim in November to repay
£1300 to boa
(plus £27 to another card plus £100 to student loan)
Aim in December to repay
£1294 to boa
(plus £27 to another card plus £100 to student loan)
That will then leave us with 1 CC to be repaid by March, plus MIL loan plus student loan....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Paid MIL's £600 cheque into the bank today - so that is a good start to my xmas challenge!
Went to bed for an hour and half tonight as was so tired! Then went to watch expendables with OH - which he loved but I found too violent!
I feel financially we are doing much better - altho I have put a bit of a splurge in my budget for the next week or so as OH and I are having a weekend away, and then I am off with the kids for a few days... Want to give them some treats.... partly as they have been away from us most of the summer which to be honest has saved us money in itself!
Our overdraft is seeing more use than I would like at the moment - but that is picking up the slack for me not using my CC. My overall spends have fallen - just not quite as much as they need to yet...
DS made bread rolls today bless him - overcooked on the outside and too doughy on the inside... But hopefully he has now learned the importance of pre-heating an over when baking and of watching your cooking or setting timers! He is 12! He didn't do any of the household chores I gave him tho despite being at home all day so he may have a bit of a shock when I chase him on these in the morning!
DD is at MIL's - who she loves and adores but it is still hard being away so many weeks of the holidays... I think she has a sleepover planned with a second-cousin that she is looking forward to tho...
MIL normally buys my kids school uniform and shoes but there is no sign of that this year - and I haven't bought anything yet... Do you think I should be getting worried LOL???Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I ve remembered that I did buy DS a couple of pairs of school trousers and a shirt near the end of term so he has those... Need to take him to buy a rucksack at some point this week - probably around £16 at Sports Direct and may need to go and buy more shirts... probably can get 2 in his size for £4 each at Asda. May be wise to get him a couple of stationary sets. Need to wonderweb his school badge back on his blazer but that should fit him for another year at least and his pe kit is still fine. The worst thing will be buying shoes - probably cost around £40 unfortunately and his last ones were binned at the end of term
I am hoping my MIL will buy DD's school stuff but if not I have seen some shoes for £20 and Asda and places like that are cheap enough so not planning to worry too much. Just will be a bit of a blow if she doesn't.

Hi SH
Just catching up on diaries. Poo to reversing into the bike but luckily it was just the bike and not one of the kids or anything - glad it it all mended again and the car is back in action. Walking sounded a good step forward though in the fitness regime. Maybe you could walk a day a week or something....Milann now hiding to dodge various items being thrown her way from SH at such a suggestion LOL!! Walking certainly sounds more my line of exercise than the shred everyone is on about.
Hope the school uniform arrives via the fairy in-laws.
I am curretnly sitting in my nightie watching heir hunters - I wish they'd find me a long lost rellie with an unclaimed will........ I had a cousin, a bit of a recluse several years ago and his details were passed to heir hunters. Cheeky blighters wrote to me and tried to claim 25% of the 3 grand I'd inheritted - my part of the family had never been lost so we didn't need finding!! - the solicitor gave them all the info on our family and it was his fathers side of the family they had to find - needless to say they got a flea in their ears and told to whistle for their 25% - but if I'd have signed and not read the small print.... Think it is the only time I'd ever wished I was an only child as I'd have scooped 15 grand. ahh welll....I'll have to dream on as I'm pretty sure all my relatives have now made wills and are well and truly accounted for.
Better go and get out the bottle af stardrops and tackle the kitchen for a 'proper' clean. Been putting it off all holidays. Weather looks grot so it might as well be today.....
Enjoy your weekend away.

Hi Milann- I agree I should definitely walk more... could possibly do it tomorrow. Thursday and Friday I have to travel to meetings tho so not an option then. I owe a bit of time though and am trying to get "straight" flexi-time wise so travelling by car definitely helps with that....
DS walked into town and met me at lunchtime.... I bought him a rucksack for school half price at £14.99 - no fear one - identical to last years which lasted all year so think it is good quality.:money: I then had the horrible realisation that he probably also needs new trainers for school and football boots as his feet have grown... :eek:He is going to try them on later and give me an opinion on whether this is needed now or could be delayed.... I haven't put any of his school stuff into my budget!!:eek:
I've told him it is time for [insert surname here] masterchef masterclass so he can chop and onion and some peppers and cook us chicken fajitas for tea... He has agreed when his game ends in about 15 mins :rotfl:
I am meeting with a friend later for a drink and pack of crisps... that luckily is vaguely in my budget as long as I take packed lunches the rest of the week
