My 0% spends card lowered the limit on it - so think will need to use bank account to pay motorbike bill... So will have to pay perhaps £1200 to PO in September rather than the £1700 originally planned.
Just checked my emails and Asda had sent me a free delivery code so have used that for a delivery Tuesday - £62.49 which is pretty good for me.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I am still hopeful that I can hit my DFD by the time I am 41 next year as long as I keep this job! Although if we did go for gym membership that too could complicate things.... as we would probably pay in a lump sum - and it would be just under £900 for the family if we paid in one go or £95 a month otherwise...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hope you've had a great weekend away and that the weather hasn't been too bad - it's been horrid here most of the time. I feel really cheated as I wanted to do something - not sure what I wanted to do but weather hasn't inspired me to do much more than be a couch potato all day.
Did you pop to see dd th ether evening or decide to leave it.

I did 18 lengths in the pool as did OH so was quite proud! We also went around the royal armouries museum (free) for 4+ hours! The armour stuff was amazing - the modern stuff made me sad!Hope you've had a great weekend away and that the weather hasn't been too bad - it's been horrid here most of the time. We joined the gym today which was a scary amount of money however if we could be fit by the time we are debt free that would be well worth it! We got a discount of around £300 by paying annually but it is still very expensive! I'm off with the kids this week so hopefully can go every day. They also now have a family zone with kid size gym equipment so I am hopeful that it will be much better for us this time.
I have inductions booked for me and the kids, OH will have to do his own.
Also spent £95 on school shoes x2, football boots and trainers plus some money on uniform so it has been an extremely expensive day!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Glad you had a good time.
Swimming should be good for you as it won't put pressure on your knee. Something you can all do too.

My DD is really cheap to kit out for school but my DS is at high school and it is the shoes, football boots and then trainers on top which are the killer! Decided to get him £35 trainers - they are asics one £15 off - with the gel cushions in the heel. I am hoping that they will be used in the gym and at school! Just grateful I got him an extra large blazer last year which hopefully will do him for this year too!
I have decided I need to get over feeling guilty about my gym spend. So here's hoping:
OH and I weigh 1 stone less each by xmas and that DS weights 7lbs less by xmas! That would be a fab xmas present in itself!! I wanted our 40th/41st year to be a year we could all get fit and healthy so here's hoping! I think the need to rejoin the gym was cemented when OH realised he wouldn't pass the fitness test for his scuba diving course! Hopefully this way by this time next year he will pass it with ease and be able to go for it!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Reading Cherisong's diary at the moment and just found out about TADA lists! Love it... so mine for the day....
* Got up with OH and had a leisurely breakfast at a Marriott hotel (paid for with clubcard vouchers - than I never knew were worth 4x as much before MSE)!
* Packed all our belongings up, etc
* Got OH to drive to MIL's to pick up kids
* Stopped off on the way to buy MIL flowers and pick up some bits of uniform as fairy in law isn't doing the honours in buying it this year!! Also bought DS new pencil case and new maths set (£3)
* Arrived at MIL's - spent half an hour or so chatting with her about all the people she knows who are dead or dying (seriously:o) before taking the kids home
* Drove home
* Forgot to have dinner and went straight back out to see if uniform was any cheaper at local Mr Ts compared to Mr As where I bought it... No sign of TV bundle so decided kids could try on what I'd bought... Enough fits but can take £13 back...
* Took DD and DS to Brantanos to buy school shoes (no queues) :j- £20 for DD - she has something wrong with her feet and so needs heels so had to get man made ones not the ideal leather ones... That gave me a 20% off :money:adults shoes voucher.... Used voucher to buy DS size 10 !!!! Clark's shoes £35 reduced to £28 result!
* Took DS to buy football boots - £15 on the label (half price) reduced by another £3 at the till! :j Bought his some asics trainers £35 reduced from £50
* Came home and rang Total Fitness. They said they could offer me £894 for family membership - I said OH had found a deal £50 less than that on the internet. They agreed to honour it so went to gym had a look round and bought said membership on CC (but will pay off bill in full next month) Also bought 2 starter kits plus 2 extra swimming hats...
* Booked gym induction for kids Wed and me Thursday
*OH cooked tea using 2 x £1 fray bentos pies so total spend about £3 for pie, chips and peas between 4 so pretty good
* Spent a bit of time watching TV with DD and DS
* Did woohoo bingo and caught up on mse
* Spent time talking to DS about reasonable fitness goals
* Put one load of washing in....
* Hopefully will go to bed soon:rotfl:Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I've just had my delivery from Mr As and am in need of a rant!!!
They got toilet gel all over my precious chocolate hob nobs!!! What were they thinking putting them in the same bag in the first place.... Yeah I am going to get a refund but still - what a waste of choc hob nobs!!! I was so looking forward to them!
Plus it took me over 5 minutes to get through and that was after about 5 sudden disconnections! The guy on the phone said it was as busy in their call centre as it gets at xmas today!!
Why do they put raw fresh meat in with my salad and fruit.... !!!! To me it is such a contamination risk!!! Yes they do have sealed packs these days and they shouldn't leak but hey - they often do!!
Mutter, mutter, moan moan Do they not teach the packers anything about food safety!! It's not like the more logical bags to put things in were overloaded so why???
I am getting a refund of a whole £3.58 but as I say I would rather nothing was wrong with the order.... I don't think I've been that lucky yet with the home delivery thing altho in theory it will save me money....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
