Well the washing got done in time - it has been a lovely warm day so able to line dry most things.
DS mowed both lawns.
We tidied up for MIL - kids have now gone again.
I just feel lost today - not sure what we are doing about fixing the car. We are thinking of trying to fix the existing bumper back on but not sure if the "torn" plastic can be fixed. May ask a friend for the number of their mobile mechanic see if he is willing to come and take a look.
We have food in the cupboards but not really the right stuff to go together. I had been planning a bit of a top up shop - now it will all have to come from the corner shop which isn't great!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well been to the corner shop and back - forgot milk - so OH will have to go back in the morning! My choices tomorrow are to walk or go pilion on his motorbike for the first time!!! I must admit I am a little tempted.... Not 100% sure I can get the helmet on tho... It might be worth checking that before we make any kind of plans. The things is - I could cope with walking but I have to visit another site a mile or two away later in the day.... haven't got the energy to walk to both! My head is still spinning.... Can't make a decision at the mo.... on anything!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

just found out my local vauxhall dealer has gone bump a few weeks ago. Someone was telling me that his BIL has paid cash for a car to pick up the next day - the night before it went bump - and hasn't got his cash or the car! Puts my bumper problem a little into perspective...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

hi lucielle - OH had his tyre replaced on his motorbike Saturday (£110) and got told his brakes are badly worn - which he is having fixed in a week's time - as he has to take it to a special centre and leave it with them for up to a week. He says he daren't risk me riding pillion!
Today I got to work extremely late. A friend gave me a lift to my meeting and someone else gave me a lift part of the way home. I still reckon I have walked at least 2 miles today! (I normally do 0)
I have arranged for a mechanic to come and look at it in the morning for free. Hopefully he can then give me an estimate of what needs doing and we can get it fixed. A friend at OH's work has also offered to help - he used to be a mechanic... just a little concerned how will we get the bits we need. Have seen 2 of the parts we need on ebay but not the third.....
I think I could use the RAC to get my car recovered to a garage if we needed to to get it fixed. A garage I rang today said it would be illegal to drive it with no bumper due to the danger to pedestrians!
My ghd's have just arrived so may give them a try soon. I need to make up over 2 hours from today but can do that later this evening or later in the week. It is the wrong time of the month on top of everything else and I just feel completely wrung out!
MSE news - £14.50 in clubcard tokens arrived today which was great!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

some good news
The mobile mechanic says the bumper is reusable - have ordered the bits needed which come to just under £50 and should arrive Thursday - he plans to charge £30 for his labour which I think is a bargain! So should be able to get the bumper and other bits refitted and sorted for just short of £80 much better than my wild imaginings on Saturday!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Tirl and CMD
Well just walked home again. Found another route home past the cinema this time and just happened to go in and walk out with tickets for me and OH to have another "date night" next Monday to watch The Expendables - £7.40 in total for the two so was pleased with that.
Spent a little at a shop on the way home too and have to confess to going to costa for lunch -chilled out for half and hour reading a magazine. Made up 30 minutes of time tonight for yesterday so hopefully will be straight hours wise soon. If I can get in much earlier tomorrow which I should be able to then hopefully I can get home much earlier too.
OH is cooking my tea - sausages, jacket spud and beans - should be nice. He is having sausages with wedges. Have a slight headache but wonder whether I've drunk too much coffee today or something.
Nearly at payout level on woohoo bingo and want to start doing bingoport again. I have let it lapse recently.... House is still quite tidy as kids not home.
Think will have to send my ghds back as there is a mark on both plates like a chip. It is a total pain though as I was really looking forward to having them.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Walked to and from work. Probably doing almost as much walking this week as I have in the previous 3-6 months!
Did extra half hour today so should now owe less than 2 hours in total which is good.
Kids are having a great time away - they are staying with MIL at a caravan park that has a pool and entertainment so that helps me feel less guilty. DS is still playing with the idea of staying home next week but it depends where his friends are.
Next door's burglar alarm is going off. Last time it set off it rang for at least 5 solid hours so not sure I will get any sleep any time soon. Makes me mad!
I got all excited as was paid today - and had about £100 more than expected - but it looks like it was a mistake when my expenses were input to me at least.... so think it will be taken off me next month. No mileage claim really for this month so going to be down next month anyway as normally get around £100! I've told them so will see what happens....
Still hope to pay £1100 off PO account this month - I don't think MIL has paid her £600 yet which is a bit gutting and may get us in trouble as when I checked this morning it didn't look like I had paid our regular payment. I paid them an emergency £90 this morning just in case.... I've decided to prop up our overdraft tho until the normal statement date with the £1100 so we are in credit most of the month rather than debit. So have been moving money around today.
Also caught up on our ebanking and downloaded into excel. We are spending the right amount on fuel - but completely overspending on groceries, dining out etc. Also hadn't got enough money in the budget for things like vehicle maintenance etc but there we go.... I've put it on auto-filter now so should be easy to see what is going on per category and I've added categories to all my sepnds.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
