hi milann - I think it could be an age thing lol - but they are a fairly new invention. I only started straightening my hair about a year or so ago when I grew it a bit and needed it ultra smart for interviews. I am so looking forward to the ghds arriving as they have a wider plate than my current bog standard straighteners and are made for thick hair which my current ones definitely aren't. Hoping it will save me lots of time.

    Hi Tirl too!

I had a really nice day at work today - meandered in quite late and left late but no-one cares so seems okay. I think I have now pretty much made up any time I owe too which is good. I have also been given some more work to do so am now happier with my workload whereas on Monday it was so "light" I was scared! job security-wise!

OH and I are going to the cinema tonight. I am skipping tea - and am going to have popcorn at the cinema instead lol! I must admit I went to costa coffee today for lunch and a cappucino and had a relaxing read of a magazine while I was there. Really felt like I had pampered myself. I am not sure me and strict budgets go together ROFL

I have a pair of GHD's (donated by my mum as she wanted narrow ones these are wide), they are amazing and I like that they switch off if left on for too long!

hi Nitha - yes these power down after 15 minutes and off completely after 30 which is a good safety feature. My hairdresser used some on my hair the other week it looked like I'd lost an inch of thick hair all over my head - it looked fine and silky not a normal look for my hair at the mo. Today hopefully it looks artfully scrunched (if not it just looks thick and messy LOL)

One thing you do need with GHDs is a good heat protection spray. I've used both Tresemme and a VO5 one that seem to do the trick pretty nicely (it just stops that fuzzy ends look).

Yeah you are probably right! It is just scary when you are temp for work to go quiet - I don't want to be downsized LOL

Watched knight and day with OH at the cinema it was very good, very funny and tongue in cheek but without being a complete spoof which would have wound me up. OH and I then had one of those deep and meaningful conversations that were probably good for us, but had me in tears and not ready for bed!! But I am tired... Need to destress a bit before will sleep tho....
