Not been around for a bit - sounds like you have got back into the swing of MSE and are tracking all your spends.

I'm jealous your kids have been broken up so long - we only broke up yesterday. I've had a busy couple of weeks - applied for a new job, got it, handed my notice in, finished yesterday - all a bit emotional and very quick - ssoooooo now - panicking a bit as less hours but a higher rate per year but is advertised as pro rata and I'm not sure how it'll pan out. I'm hoping it'll work out similar to what I'm getting now. A big change for me as I used to think I'd be there forever but I realise I need that change now.

Have a great holiday - I won't leave it sooooo long now I'm off work for summer and have a bit of time.

Hi guys and thanks for posting!

Well we are back now. Had a good holiday in a cottage in Wales. Probably spent more than we should have done but were helped slightly by OH selling a computer part for £55 and being given the cash just before we went and the kids were both given nearly £30 each from nice relatives and friends which eased the pressure on us somewhat!

OH's mum has committed to given us £600 as OH' birthday present - we gave her a credit card slip but apparently there was some info missing - so I need to dig out extra details for her. It doesn't matter if it waits as it is on interest free until December anyway.

My tax credit refund arrived £431. I have paid £56 I owed for after school club for DD - I successfully disputed a further £24. OH has also got his MOT on his motorbike done for £38 which was a result - and found someone prepared to service a BMW motorbike in our home town which is great news too! I have updated our electronic banking - we run with 2 current accounts so have swapped £450 from one account to another to ease the overdraft. We are then back on track to make some big payments to our credit cards come August payroll in about 10 days or so...

ps we received £10 from quidco while we were away too which is always nice1

Hi guys - we were expecting rain every day but the temperatures were around 16 to 17 degrees but it never rained while we were out which was great. We went to the beach four times at the kids request - OH swam each time as did DS but I only did the last day. The sea breeze was pretty bad though...

Money is doing much better mainly helped by a steady income, gifts and confirmation today that our mortgage is dropping from £753 to £181! Not only that but our last mortgage payment in mid July was at the higher rate but we were covered by our new mortage from 1 August so we have actually cleared a bit off our mortgage too!

Milann - I wish my MIL would give my parents lessons then we would be truly sorted!

That's a great reduction in the mortgage payment - should make a huge difference to you.
