I like the idea of a hospital plan. I think that will make you feel more in control. A bit like a birth plan in a way.

That was my counsellor's suggestions just like a birth plan... The doctor I saw at the hospital seemed to think it would help to...

I think it will make you feel in control, consulted and respected. That's how I felt with the birth plan anyway.

Thanks CMD - have now written it - only problem is I now have a throat infection on top of my skin infection so need to shift that quickly or my operation will be delayed. DS also has ear infection. We are both now on antibiotics.

My DD has aced her sats results... I am such a proud mum - she only 8 but in reading comprehension got level 4!!

Hi guys - still worried re operation being delayed... at least its distracting me from worry about the operation itself! A friend from work came to see me and picked up my laptop and most of my paperwork which made it all seem very real. I kept my mobile for now tho as I am ringing work to answer their queries every day at the moment and don't want that on my bill or my personal phone.... We had a nice chat before doing a bit of a handover.... I did a bit of work this afternoon despite being on a sicknote but at least I could stop when I'd had enough....

I have to ring the hospital tomorrow about my throat infection and see if they will still operate. I am hoping that they say either they / or my gp can assess Monday and then decide whether or not to go ahead... According to the net most throat infections last 7-14 days so if mine started Sunday there's a chance I'll be better by the start of next week especially as I've been taking antibiotics plus over-counter medicines!

Just sent OH out to do some shopping - he got me a load more iced mango smoothies - yummy! Currently 3 for £1 at my local Mr Ts.... I have mostly packed my hospital suitcase and at least being off this week and having my DS off too with an ear infection has meant that I've had some time to coordinate efforts to clear up and sort out the house so its in a fit state prior to me going in hospital. I can't believe how much muck the dyson is sucking up - but do think that is improving the state of my throat.... The dust mountain in our house had got a little to high if you know what I mean LOL! :) I made DS hoover the stairs... I hoovered the front room, hallway, downstairs loo and kitchen, I made each of the kids do their room and OH did our bedroom... The landing still needs doing tho but it needs clearing of its clutter mountain first.... Any volunteers LOL?

Before this bug hit - I'd bitten the bullet and signed up as a limited company for the first time. I can't trade really until after I am back at work and fully fit again - but I can be writing my website, setting up my bank account and writing blogs and building up my twitter followers. I've changed my name to one that is more memorable than last time I did a website so hopefully that will go in my favour... I also went to a workshop a few weeks ago and we are trying to spur each other on a little - a group of people I got email addresses off... So potentially that could be good.

I've been writing lots of stuff down over the last 6 weeks or so in my hard back plain page "play book" but have been decorating it mse style with pictures from art magazines etc to inspire me LOL. I may even use art and songs as inspiration for my blog. While I'm off work recovering from the operation... I am hoping to map out a workshop agenda complete with icebreakers etc for people job hunting / changing careers and then set up some dates locally and possibly across the country from say October onwards and start delivering and charging for them.... I'm hoping that way I can advertise my product which currently is me and my expertise and get people to buy coaching services from me as a follow on to that....

Over time I want to develop say email coaching or product downloads - I know hypno does some stuff like that so may look to her for some guidance on that. I also want to check out what other training I can be doing.... and seeing if I can get on any evening courses from September that would boost my skill base....

Well done on biting the bullet and setting up a limited company, its a really big positive step. You also sound more positive about using your time post surgery.

Hopefully the throat sorts itself out.

HI Gill - I am trying to see it as a paid opportunity to think.... and plan an d perhaps write blogs... and workshop material.... I also want to help develop my son's web building and art skills - see if he can build a play business too. Just cos I can't lift things or move things around after the operation.... doesn't mean I can't use my brain, laptop, phone, camera, etc... I want to have a go at making little videos for my website and some animations etc... I want to get on YouTube and embrace new technology... may even go on the new google+ website... I am already on twitter, linked in and facebook.

I've been reading a book called "Brand You" this weekend as well as Richard Bransons' "business stripped bare" - and its very thought provoking. This time I want a brand that is no-compromise, about me, what I represent and what I want to focus around.... all of me not just tiny chunks of me like we take into work each day.... It will either work or it won't but at least I'll feel passionately alive!

My documents for my new business have arrived - and I ordered a company seal which arrived yesterday too! Sweet!

Still tidying and trying to get straight... I wouldn't mind but my house is never straight so why does it bother me now? Want to try and get a shower before bed too as very early start tomorrow - have to be an hour away from home by 7.15!

Wishing you the very best of luck tomorrow. I will be thinking of you xxx

Sounds like you have lots of positive things planned for when the op is over so try to focus on that when you are in there.

Hope you enjoyed Pizza Hut :)
