    Hi CMD

I struggle to relax at the best of times... I did recently buy P McKenna's latest book... perhaps I should actually try out the CD included LOL

Sleeping badly at the moment - too hot I think... and just too much on my mind. Even with the tablets I still wake up regularly through the night... I think it is because I am so scared of oversleeping completely - I keep waking up to check the time.... I did buy a new alarm clock this week - as my other one broke last week - but today the alarm didn't go off.... The controls require more reading of the manual to understand which is just a pain. I want the alarm to go off the same time everyday unless I tell it not to - where as this one looks like it needs to be reset everyday!! It is also an Ipod/iphone docking station and I played that through it last night so I think that's how come it didn't go off. Luckily I still set my phone alarm....

Today just feels like a rushed day, need to take car to garage - walk to work from there - have meeting with boss, hopefully fit meeting someone for lunch in, have another meeting, - get car from garage hopefully and come home. But will miss the dyson arriving and have to organise another time which not looking forward to.

I think I've spilled one too many drinks on my living room carpet and it is now smelling of damp... Don't know whether to just buy a new one or try and get it cleaned again and see if that sorts it out... It has got lots of marks on it.... that don't seem to want to come out anymore... Problem is - if I did that I'd be tempted to get a new suite at the same time as the one I sit on has shrunk and lost its support!

What are you using to get the carpet cleaned? A steam cleaner, or getting someone in to do it. It does depend on the quality of the carpet.

I'm just using spot cleaner at the moment - with a brush - Dr Beckmann or something from H&B. It does seem to have got some blue felt tip pen type stain out that I thought was permanent so there's hope yet...

My dyson arrived today - so I think given how much dirt that got out the carpet it was no wonder it was smelling.... Just wish we'd bought one when we replaced our last dyson with a vax in January ish!!

So my method of cleaning is to empty a room of all the things that don't belong in it... ie most of the stuff... OH looked a bit puzzled when he came home :rotfl:as it was all in the hallway!! I also burned a load of papers and some free logs on the fire pit today to get rid of some rubbish that way

I had quite a nice day off... but slightly weird too... Got up in time for dyson so no real lie in... and then had to go to church for a leaders meeting which took about 3 hours, then dropped a friend off home and then decided to treat myself to a quiet carvery meal :shhh: as I'd not really eaten all day... Then I came home to the kids by around 4.30pm and laid the law down about them getting the house tidy by the time I get back from London. I live in hope :rotfl:

Then faffed around... My parents rang so ended up on the phone to them for over an hour but hopefully it avoids a visit.... Then nipped to Mr As to pick up a prescription and some shopping, picked DS and his friend up from Air Cadets a little late :shhh: and then decided I wanted to do some baking...

DD's after school club is shutting for good and it will be her last day Wednesday - so I thought I'd make some cakes for her to take in... And a few to take to London with me.... :j I am secretly pleased the after school club is shutting as that will save us £80-100 a month depending on how much we give DS for helping out with her... :money:instead... But she loves the attention there so we were reluctant to take it away altogether. I'm hoping that doing some of the clubs the school now do like street dance or cheer leading will help fill some of that gap... at £2 a time instead of £7.50 a night...

Spent 2 hours trying to find a book for the seminar I'm going to on Sunday - wanted the author to sign it. Only to find that DS had it in his school bag and the bag had ripped and the book had nice black dye all over it presumably from the rain... Not good since it was originally white.... So may not be MSE but if I do ask him to sign... may buy a new book! Really must go to bed... Still not packed or anything yet tho...

Well I bought a few new books all signed! Stayed at sisters last night - I treated her to Costa and she treated me to an Italian meal so that was nice! Today met loads of lovely people at a workshop- and was offered the chance to stay in touch and possiblely run a workhop for the same organisation that set up the one I attended in future!! What a result!!

Feel really energised and positive again which is good! And have loads of ideas buzzing around in my head on how to create income through things that I find "play" or easy.... plus some contacts to get going with too who are likeminded and trying to achieve similar things.... So buzzing but shattered....

I also went to the Tsunami memorial with the sister I stayed with which was moving.... Its outside but you have to walk all the way through the blue zone to get to it at the Earth History Museum. I was glad to be able to go to together with someone else from the family and it was nice to see the names, especially of one in particular...

Hi guys - this week seems to have gone so fast! Relatively positive so far. Trip to see counsellor was good. I bought a new dress today £25 instead of £45 in the Wallis sale but size 12 I was thrilled especially as I still weigh 14.5 stone!!

I also talked to someone this week who had had the operation I'm having and had had 2 of the complications they name on the list of possibles and still been out of hospital in less than a week and been playing sports 9 weeks later... She said she lost loads of weight easily after the operation, and a friend of hers who had looked pregnant before didn't after the operation.... I am so hoping that that happens for me - as my arms and legs have been slimming down and my bust but my tummy area just hasn't shifted much... I'm hoping that turns out to be the fibroids fault and that it all deflates after the operation!

    Hi SH

glad you enjoyed the seminar and it looks like you have been networking like mad. Well done on being able to get into anything from Wallis, let alone a size 12! That must make you feel good.

I think you may be right, and the fibroids are contributing to some of your weight, and probably your body shape too. I do sometimes think the NHS may have gone a bit too far with 'keeping the patient informed'. If people are nervous, they react differently; some people like to focus on detail, whereas personally I would sooner they just got on with it!

    Hi Gill

Well today I spent the whole day either at hospital or travelling to it... I saw 3 people, the first two were timely - I then waited 3 hours to see a doctor.... They have agreed it would be sensible to do a hospital plan to make sure that they don't make me unnecessarily anxious during my stay etc.... At least work will give me the time back for it - OH will have to make up the time...

I'd really recommend relaxation techniques. I guess there are two main ways to deal with anxiety.
    1. Distraction- plug into a really good audiobook. Get people to chat to you about interesting unrelated stuff!
    2. Focus on relaxation- focus on breathing or imagine you ate in a favourite place where you feel relaxed.
Remember that you will be given the strength to deal with anything life throws at you, even though it doesn't always feel like it!
