Thanks Gill, CMD, Tirl and Milann - its always lovely to come back to posts...
Well got through another day.... It was a bit of a weird day with lots of people with slightly strange issues.... Oh well. Made me feel quite at home LOL. Had a friend over today - who I helped out which was good...
Wondering whether it is just way too late now to safely go for a walk... wondering whether I can co-opt OH or DS into coming with me... I worked from home this am due to teachers strike - and then DS looked after DD for us this afternoon... which was handy....
Got doctors first thing tomorrow so probably should try and take my tablets and get an early night... problem is I've done nothing that just for me yet today!! Or that's what it feels like...
I think I do just need to try and readjust my thinking... and like Milann says people with bad experiences go on about it more... I did read one shocking statistic (in a good way) yesterday - about 90% of people who have a hysterectomy would recommend it to a friend! That sounded good!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well visit to GP went well.... she is going to write a letter to the hospital for me explaining about my concerns and hopefully that way I will get more support when I go in...
Am now on antibiotics... I got infection in injection site from last time... and it was a septic abcess that had started tracking.... Not good!! Probably caught it from pool like DD.
DD was throwing up Wednesday night... OH has thrown up tonight but only after working.... DS went to air cadets and I went to the gym so both of us missed it.... LOLAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Got a dress from Mr As in the sale for after the op... £5 not bad....
Looks like my sisters completion date is delayed so probably staying wih her next week rather than my uncle which is fine... Probably meet in London central and then go somewhere to eat...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi guys
Well made it to church today with DD. OH was at another church, and DS was sleeping in after getting back from a concert at 2am! The friend he went with - it was her uncles band and they got backstage passes and passes to the after show party so it was pretty cool for a 13 year old. He stuck to tango and pepsi so proud of him for that... and complained about the smokers driving so it doesn't sound like I need to worry about that for him. It is the longest he's ever been out like that tho.... so was starting to get worried! He'd told me he'd probably be home around 12am and DD at 3am! So luckily I didn't over-worry.
DD got invited out to play, so DS and I snook off for a pub meal which was nice... We sorted out where he is going to go the day of my operation... they may even have him overnight... we'll see... A friend agreed to look after him for me and help keep him distracted... I don't think I want him to see me the first night really....
Got some weeding done today which was good - and bought a pretty pre-filled hanging basket... Cos of our holiday we didn't end up buying bedding plants, and I'm missing them!!
DD unfortunately started to tantrum as soon as she got home so she was sent to her room to calm down which didn't work... Eventually I let her back down stairs to watch TV while I gardened. She's now in the bath while I cook tea... Her eczema has all come back and I wonder whether her impetigo has all really healed up or whether really I should take her back to the doctors...
I have a presentation to do at work on Tuesday that I haven't prepared yet - I do it either tonight or tomorrow night?!! tonight isn't look good so far... I think once I've got DD in bed, I will go for a walk to chill and leave DS in charge. OH isn't due back until late....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi!
Hope the presentation went well today2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
thanks Jellie - I got it done Monday night and delivered it yesterday. It was kind of a lessons learned kind of presentation so a little hard to do without naming and shaming but I think I got through it diplomatically enough....
Problem is that I have very little concentration ability at the moment - so respond well to deadlines as that makes me focus but am not performing at my best for the rest. I think I was supposed to set up a meeting for tomorrow with someone - and I asked one of the two people who I need there but forgot to ask the other and stuff like that... Just struggling.... All I am really thinking about is my Op and will I get thro it okay....
Just found out from facebook that someone I know has died... weird way to find out!! Someone else had an Op and came through it okay.... also on fb
It should be my DD's sports day today but not sure it will hbe on as it was raining overnight. Its stopped for now tho....
We've decided to order a dyson as our cheapo vax keeps breaking the fan belt... It did it day one... and keeps doing it We should have just took it back!! But I've ordered it from amazon on express delivery as it was the cheapest way by far.. £200. I've also got to get my car done this week - and even if they find no other problems its going to be £550! So have had to transfer some money that was set aside to pay off card in September as we cant absorb all that in one month... I'm overspending still at the moment which is not good either....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well survived another day... Got thro sports day too - for once they carried on even when it rained!!
My DS has been invited to a special school event and is on a list of amazingly well behaved children board at school which is nice... What's even nicer is that unlike in my day - he doesn't get picked on for it... My MIL said his uncle would faint if he got a letter like that about his kids which was nice.... We always feel the poor relation ' cos comparatively we are! In other ways we are extremely fortunate however....
Well I've booked Friday and Monday am off as I can't focus on work and I'm going to London this weekend anyway.... I've just laid the law down to OH and kids that the HOUSE as in all of it has to be straight before I go in for my operation, and I expect to see a dramatic improvement by the time I come back Sunday night! I can live in hope! I plan to do some stuff Friday as some of the problem is created by me... the bits that aren't however.... they had better sort out!! I worked really hard over the last few months to declutter but since we've come back from holiday our house has just been a tip again and I can't stand it!
MIL has asked me to send loads of clothes with DD for the summer - I said I could probably part with half of her stuff and not notice. I mentioned about DS going on a summer camp and needing air cadet boots and shoes - and she's offered me £50 towards them as she buys DD loads of stuff and nothing for him. I thought that was lovely of her. She also gave him a fiver and DD £1 today as she said to DD she is always getting treats which is true... She's also offered to buy DD some school uniform which is very kind of her...
I've just made loaded skins - they are gorgeous! Enough for tomorrow night too which is good.... I am hoping to go to the gym in a minute... well let my tea go down slightly first.... I want to exercise while I can tho.. and I enjoy it now anyway...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

26th.... I'm off the 25th and have 2 medical appointments next week... I think the time will probably start to fly soon. I'm hoping that it will be a bit like being pregnant - at some point or other you get scared of the pain but by the time it comes to it - you just want the baby out.... I'm hoping it will be like that with the op... by the time it comes I'll just want to get over and done with so I can get on with the next bit which is of course recovery in this case.... Some friends at work are already promising to come over at lunchtimes to meet me or whatever while I'm off which sounds nice...
I talked to a friend at work today who had had cancer and asked her how she coped... She said she knew from the outset she had a 95% chance of success and never entertained the thought of dying and just got on with it... She still had a year off work while it was all going on tho and I know she got down at times but she just pushed through. She was encouraging - I think I find it easier to take it on board when someone's positive like that that has been through their own health scares and come through the other side.... Rather than people mouthing platitudes who've never been thro it... She was just like... Its normal to be scared... its normal to have issues... but you will get thro it and we'll be there for you which was fab ....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I found the hypnobirthing CD brilliant and that is what got me through labour and I didn't panic. Would you consider a relaxation CD. I listened to it going to sleep and it genuinely worked for me.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
