  • Have giggled my way through this thread.

There have been several (significant) occassions throughout our engagement that have helped me realise that some people are not happy for us, and in turn I've realised I don't care about them or what they think.

In years to come I will think of this period in my life and I will tear up because my other half is literally my other half and without him I'm only half, and I'll never forget that my wonderful, wonderful bridesmaid who I couldn't love more had a miscarriage at 15 weeks and within 10 days was out pounding the pavements with me doing 'wedding stuff'.

These are the memories I'm choosing to keep.

Here's to long and happy marriages girls!

Apparently, everyone turns up lates to wedding receptions.

It seems everyone knew this except for me

Someone else posted similar to that a few months ago, pretty much everyone was nearly two hours late. Not the same for engagements, all the guests got there before me and OH :rotfl:

I agree something aboutshopping, I've had so many things that go wrong and the only thing that is keeping me sane is that shortly (14 weeks) we will be mr and mrs

    My confession is......

    1) I am not getting married for 26 months but have everything already picked out

    2) Have told my H2B that I have picked loads and loads of expensive dresses etc so the wedding came to around £80,000 so that he would take an intereast in the planning

    3) Angrily screamed at my MIL that I dont want any children to come and then remembered that I have 2 of my own

    4) Am watching bridezillas as much as possible to get tips

    5) have asked (nicely) one of the BMs to lose 2 dress sizes as the dress only goes up that big (dont think this is as bad as it sounds she does have like 2 years lol)

Am sure i will have some more in the next couple of years lol

maybe should have said my confessions are at the begining lol

    here are my confessions:

    1. I got so tired of OH grunting every time I suggested a venue and paying no attention, that I threatened to book the stadium of his favourite football team's arch-rivals if he didn't buck up and pay attention to the planning process. I'd have done it too.

2.I decided to have family only bridesmaids because one of my other bridesmaid options is much prettier than me and my oldest friend is one of these people who always have to go one better than me so I don't trust her not to sabotage it in some way. This probably makes me a horrible person.

    3. I don't want one of my relatives at my wedding because he's really chavvy. They are all invited but a little bit of me is in the huff.

    4. A close family member got married a couple of months ago and I want our wedding to be much better.

    5. OH and me have turned down the offer of a family friend who will do our wedding photos for £50 because we can't stand him.

    6. I really, really want a swanky princess wedding in a big castle but it's too over budget. I know it's not worth getting into debt for, but I really want a wedding like on films and tv and the fact I can't have one makes me :( .

    7. I would marry OH in jeans and flipflops if that's what he wanted. I just want to be his wife. I am that soppy.

They're brilliant double mummy!! I found that if I just make one confession at a time then I appear in a far more reasonable light :rotfl:

Aww hun, I'm sure we could find some things for you, I found a small hotel to have the reception in for us, it's great as it means no one else will be there on our day, it's my little bit of princessness and we've also hired a superbus to take the guests to the evening do, it has plasmas and things in it but I've still managed to be quite MSE. Start a thread saying where you are, I'm sure collectively we can pool our knowledge to make the hollywood lot jealous xx

Thank you Lexxi but had to get it off my chest lol

only a couple of the family know that we are actually (finally) going to do it so all of those are bearing the brunt of it i think when more people know my unreasonableness will be more spread and more bearable by the people i am randomly shouting at

PS loving your sig Lexxi xxx

My sister bought us a cake topper, she wants nothing to do with the wedding and won't get involved so now I want to kick her! I wouldn't mind feeling like I should use something someone has bought/contributed if they were bloody well going!!!
