I dont think I am a bridezilla but Im going to rant anyway because I very nearly just put my rant on fb which is probably not the best place to do it lol!!

So we have a 4 tier cake, why should one of them be fruit just because 'its traditional'? Tough, no fruit cake

So we arent having a first dance because we dont want to......just because 'its traditional' doesnt mean we have to do it

So we have booked to go to Sharm on our honeymoon 2 days after the wedding, its does not mean we are going to get massacred, its booked and we cant change even if we want to so hows about stop going on about it

Im sure there are more but thats what p!ssing me off most at the moment

I feel your pain. We are not having fruit cake either and my mum can't fathom why we are having fake flowers instead of reals ones!!

Count to 10 and ignore everything they are saying ;)

We had a fruit cake and a sponge cake. When I mentioned to my nana we were having a sponge cake she was horrified as it was traditional to only have fruit cake. I wish I could have seen her face when she saw our sponge cake (our guests entered the reception room before we did) as it certainly wasn't traditional. She said she was shocked but "it's so you's". This was it:

Go with what you want as after all it's your day and you don't want to look back and think I wish I had/hadn't done this
  • That's awesome lisajane! If we'd had a cake, it would probably have been a zombie one too!

Another thing.....people moaning about the price of the rooms where we are having the wedding a) its really not that expensive, not my fault you have such a big family b) you have known about the wedding and where its being held for the past 18 months, why only look into room prices and booking now, 2 weeks before!!!

    Seriously wishing we had eloped

Eloping does sound good, but just having a ceremony sounds better, everyone can come see us get married, and then go home!

But no, he wants a reception for all the family, so we'll have one! Originally he said no to any dancing, but now I want to party and that includes music and dancing, so I just have to make sure I bring my music and make room for a dance floor! Ideally I would want a band or dj but I think I might be pushing it with that so, it might just be a laptop with a playlist on it.
  • It must be time to resurrect this thread!!

Future MIL is driving me crazy. It started off with trying to persuade us to get married in the local bowling club then insisting we invite certain family/long distance family that I've never met. She's also been moaning that she's "not allowed to help with the wedding" which I dont understand - its not her wedding??!

She caught me off guard by telling me she's been looking for Heather buttonholes to buy because its traditional that they wear Heather! I was so surprised that she had the cheek to be telling me what we are having for buttonholes that I didn't tell her NO and now it seems we're not having buttonholes that match the bouquets!!

    I must be a bridezilla!

Ah, Mother of the Groomzilla! Does she have any daughters? I'm guessing not, and so this is the only wedding she feels that she gets to 'throw'.
