Getting married in Richmond Virginia, hoping we can just have a sit down meal with immediate family instead

Where in Richmond? There are lots of lovely places there (been several times) & I am sure you will find somewhere for a meal or maybe a buffet.

Went to a wedding in Richmond & the reception was at their house - catered buffet - yum....Do the inlaws have the room to do that? It was very informal & laid back

I'm sick of wedding planning and wish we'd just eloped!

I can't pick Save The Date cards which I want to send out in Christmas cards because I don't know the style or colour of the day yet, but I want them to match the 'theme' and the invites so it looks pulled together and classy. Sigh.

And just because I'd like a few nice pictures of us and our family on the day, I have to spend like £1500?! I could buy a car for that! And how many people have bought a camera and thought they can make fortunes calling themselves a wedding photographer when it's clear they barely know one end of a camera from another?! AFAIK it's conventional in group shots to have everyone smiling and in focus!

Do you live anywhere near Herts? My photographer was very reasonable (nowhere near £1500) and he's a professional wedding photographer and everything! :)

Agreed that since the church has a hall we can have, that we'll have a reception there, and I'll be in Richmond for around 2 months before the wedding so can meet most of the guests then, it'll still be a small wedding and reception though

Thanks, but I'm in Bristol, so probably a bit too far.

Sarah Elvin covers the south west region - a CD-only copyright free starts from c.£400 (we got a midweek special bargain) and she's bang-on for semi-formal shots if that's your thing.

I live in Bristol but got our wedding photographer from Bham. He charged £350 for the whole day and gave us over 2000 pictures all on CD. He's on FB too. His name is Andy Pilsbury

Tonight I'm a bridezilla because we need to
    1) cut 10 people off the evening list and
    2) talk about what you will be able to put towards the day
It's less than 6 months away and these are things we need to sort out now. I'm sorry if I'm interrupting your game of The Hobbit Kingdoms of Middle-earth but I think this is a little more important. I'm pretty close to poking your iPhone up your backside and removing all of your guests that I don't actually like but tolerate

Wow, I'd be tempted to do this anyway:rotfl:
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....
