Oh Daisie, poor you
Have a dodgy hug :grouphug:
I wouldn't worry about everyone moaning. People always seem to expect everything to be done for them! My FiL to be wanted us to book their flights and hotels for them for Vegas  We said sorry, but no! We've enough on our plates, let alone worrying about their travel plans and being responsible if things go wrong!!
If you can change it I'd put your website back to how it was and let them wait! One more week won't hurt, just tell them the invitations will be sent out next week as planned.
And as for people not coming, I understand you have minimum numbers but surely as long as they are paid for it makes no difference to the venue whether the guests turn up or not? I mean if you need 100 and pay for 100, surely it won't matter if only 90 turn up? Of course you can tell the venue actual numbers so no food is wasted but they would still be getting all the £££. I know paying for people that don't come isnt exactly MSE but if you can afford it and want that venue then why not?
It always a bit disappointing when people can't make it, but the truth is to them, it's just another party. I had a party for my 30th last year and not that many came to be honest, so I was a bit upset before hand. But I had an amazing time regardless, you realise the ones that did make the effort are your real friends and anyway most were miffed they didn't come as they missed OH proposing to me
Please don't worry, I remember how thrilled you were that you could have this venue after all. All that matters is that you and your OH and as many friends and relatives as possible share your day. Weddings will always be an odd mixture of people from all parts of your lives. As a wedding guest I know that I generally won't know many people at a wedding, but that's part of the fun! And a great conversation starter as well
Hope my ramblings have helped, even a littleCross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
I am a bridezilla as I only booked my wedding last week for November 2013. Mentioned to my mum about going dress shopping and she said...oh it's a bit early.
Anyway went round to her house yesterday and she has been shopping on weekend and spotted a dress she loved and bought it for my wedding. I am happy shes found something as she is worrying loads (not a suit person and unfortunately looks awful in hats!) and its gorgeous...buuuuutttt... I dont want anyone to have their outfit before I have mine.... Ah well sure ill get over it!0 -

i completely agree with this statement. as they say a friend will bail you out of jail, but a good friend will be there in handcuffs with you!IF YOU THINK YOU ARE SO CLEVER, THEN WHY ARE'NT YOU RICH?

74Jax - We're getting married in April h2b want's to go to New York for our honeymoon so do I but I would love to see New York at christmas and new year. So we might only have our honeymoon then.
Daisie - We're going to have a weird mish mash too love, my mum doesn't talk to any of her family so said she can invite some of her and my step dads friends. I will be having friends and my parents thats it. H2B well his mum's family is invited but his dad's family isn't as his dad doesn't speak to any of his family so it's not unheard of and now I think it's very common.

I don't want a wedding reception, I'm getting married in America, and i don't want to have a reception after the wedding where it'll be mainly all his family (he's American) and me and a couple of mine. I don't like being the centre of attention especially not in a roomful of strangers0

Getting married in Richmond Virginia, hoping we can just have a sit down meal with immediate family instead0 -
Yes the dress is glittery and huge and doesn't fit in with anything else in the wedding but unlike the rest of you in that family I only plan to do this once and I want it to be amazing! Plus! I was born to wear a princess dress!!!!! :j0

I've been reading lots of this thread, and been thinking to myself that I'm very lucky that all my family/friends won't give me hassle. You've all got equally fabulous and horrendous stories! (The one about someone planning to propose at your wedding is awful!) Of course, that was only because no plans had been laid yet..
Told my best mate that I didn't have her listed as having a "plus one" because she's single - cue her going off on one because she "intends to have a boyfriend by then and she can't not have a plus one!". At the time I said that we have to keep the budget down and if she wants to bring someone they'll have to pay the extra guest cost, then she said well she'll have to pay it. We got onto another subject and that was that.
After having a bit of a think I've decided that she can't having a plus one. It's not about the money, it's about having people at the ceremony & wedding breakfast that me and the OH know and cherish. All the people in the photos will be people special to us. Bridezilla-y?
My other concern is that our main colour theme was going to be green, and I thought it quite lucky that the venue matched our ceremony with their green decor. Now I'm concerned that'll be us matching the venue rather than the other way round!0
