She text on the weekend to say their wedding is a few weeks before mine!!! I have been planning for nearly 2 years and am so excited about my wedding but feel she is stealing my thunder a little bit. Trying to be all grown up and not let it bother me but it does a bit. I just hope she doesn't have the same dress as me!!!
Also having a bit of an issue with my MOH. It appears that she doesn't want to arrange my hen do so my bridesmaid has taken over, bless her, and is doing a sterling job despite being a very busy bee! Bit sad that MOH isn't really helping as I did hers a few years ago and made a huge effort to make it special for her
Phew, thanks for letting me get that off my chest!
Aw!!! You have my sympathy on both counts! Your friend is clearly on the rebound  and your MOH is being very selfish in forgetting how much you did for her xxx7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

i'm beginning to wish we were having a traditional everyone in their finery type do - H2B's friend of many years looked most put out when I told him there was no dress code, just wear something comfy and clean, or whatever you are happiest in without it being fancy dress.
I tried to explain that it is the fact he is there which is important to us, not what he is wearing. Although I did tell him he can't wear his British Gas uniform too! When you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble, give a whistle.

I've been engaged for nearly a month now!
We have 2 options for wedding
Option 1: me, df and 2 dd's go to to the carribean with our best friends and as much family as can afford to go. They all come for one week and take our dd's home whilst we stay for another week on our own
Option 2: we all go to Vegas or new York. Get married. Everyone goes home and then df and I go somewhere for a honeymoon most likely the carribean.
Everyone has something to bloody say about it. Telling us what they want and we should do what they want. This is the whole reason we wanted to go away to get married.
And my mil is a beast and I don't want her in my wedding pictures0 -

I have such a mental picture of this.
my family all have a natural ability to unintentionally gurn as soon as a camera is about, even me, god knows what our photos will look like! I'll probably even laugh at them in a few years timeWhen you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble, give a whistle.

love it!
I saw an advert on TV yesterday for a camera that starts taking the photos even before you press the button, I can't work out if this is  or :j
I just can't smile. I mean, I can normally but not with a camera pointing at me - my lips seem to tremble :rotfl: But then again I loose all ability to walk when I feel people are watching me too :rotfl:Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
