  • It shouldnt be, but it always is. People feel they should offer you advice or force ideas upon you. You are allowed to do your day in the way *you* want.

I think I may need to remember that myself sometimes! :D

    Me too!

We are determined to have a smallish, intimate, simple, non-tacky, non-blingy wedding and I have actually been accused of 'reverse snobbery' for this!

but there was so much !!!!!ing behind the brides back that i felt embarrased at times. To me, my small(ish) wedding will mean just as much as their huge display of how much money they have, and I want to be allowed to do it my way :( Is that too much to ask?

aw that is horrible, I am not surprised you were embarrased. Some people are so ungrateful, just because her wedding was not what they would have wanted. Bet they still ate the free food.

Thankfully, like you say, the bride wouldn't have heard. That must have horrible.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

    Yes, this ^^^^

Apparently not wanting touches such as the owls delivering the rings and gold edged bouquets somehow means I think I'm 'better' than those people who do?!
  • hmmm owls delivering the rings, i did debate getting a little back pack so our dog could be the ring bearer - but he can be a cantankerous old sod in unfamiliar surroundings and didn't want him biting anyone.

reverse snobbery indeed! i've heard it all now.

PS congrats wanchai on the weight loss!
The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 5
  • Went for my ring fitting/sizing and it's slightly small so will be recast. The lady then said, "April 7th? You have lots of time. We have till the 6th to get it ready.

I want my ring now and today! That's why I ordered it in September...sigh.
