Because I have been guilt tripped into inviting them anyway! I said I'll just send invites but apparently I 'need' to send them save the dates too.
I would not be guilt tripped into inviting 'randomers' to your wedding? why on earth would your mum think you would. I would just stay where you are and have lunch with h2b in the warmth:jForty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
NoAngel- a month or so ago I would have said only invite who you want, but since then Ive been put on the spot to invite some I dont know (met once and if they walked past me on the street I wouldnt know it was them), it is annoying but I made the decision that I would make the exception for this one person but that it is! It seems my tables will now be uneven and I had to make another invite (luckily I have to amend a few anyway), but if it means I wont be guilt tripped and wont fall out with the person who wanted to invite them I will keep quiet this once. (and it takes a lot for me not to say how I feel). It isnt a nice feeling at all and it isnt fair to be put on the spot so you definately deserve a bridezilla rant.:)0

My BM says that this probably happens to everyone! Easiest thing to do is invite these extra people...! But then this is it! No more after...0

Your BM is right. I think as long as you have invited the people you want, it is not going to put you under financial strain and they are not people you dislike invite them and forget all about it. What's the point in getting stressed about a few extras? They may not come OR you may find they are really helpful - who knows?

unless you have limited numbers like us in which case it's "sorry we're full".
Just had one of my friends moaning how expensive accommodation is near our wedding and that she's going to struggle to get to and from the wedding. She has chosen to emigrate to Australia 3 days after our wedding (our date was set 8 months before she booked her tickets) so her car will be left at her mum's 500 miles away but I can't worry about where every guest is staying. Oh and btw accommodation nearby is half the price it would be if we were getting married in a hotel so it's not like it's unusually high. surely most people wouldn't bring this up with the bride!when the first cup of coffee tastes like washing up she knows she's losing it0 -

for some reason when it comes to weddings, some people tend to lose all abilities to plan themselves, their transport and their accommodation. It is like they expect to be entertained for the day plus not have to plan how to get there or what to wear. Or maybe that's just our guests...!!!0 -

Expertly put.
I had friends round on Friday who asked how they were getting from the ceremony to the Evening Reception. I said I was walking (it's a 3-5min walk along the same street....) two of them were horrified, and said they didn't want to walk. Looking at me as though i'd sort it for them???? I said that's up to them but I'd be walking with my h2b and moh, bm etc........Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -

OMG! How rude! Cant believe theyre not prepared to walk a few hundred yards! God help me then... My reception is a good 20/25 minute drive and I haven't arranged any transport! Most of my guests are staying at the venue so will be driving:beer: Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0
