i wish i'd been a bridezilla and told my mother that even though she offered to make our cake, that means she makes what we want not what she thinks we should have!

OMG OMG OMG I can not believe I am typing this - remember it is a place to let out ur bridezillaness:mad:
My close close friend of ten years, who is my neighbour and we joke that we need to knock a wall down to make an inside door, my daughter of 13 and her daughter of 11 have bedrooms wall to wall and they talk on their DS's, who's partner died 18months ago and I was the one who gave CPR to him - but failed, is getting married and initially I wasn't invited together with my h2b and dd. I accepted it, she just wanted a small wedding, now she has finalised things and I am invited my oh and dd isn't. I am so upset, yet can't tell her, she just wants a small wedding. I know the package booked is for 50 people but they are only having 20. I have to somehow tell dd I am now invited but she isn't.
And to top it off I'm a bride to be who totally stands by you have YOUR wedding YOUR way, so I have no right to feel this way.
Feel so much better for writing it down.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
I just wanted to say that although your friend's husband died, you didn't fail - you gave him the best chance he could have had, and the fact that he died despite your efforts is no reflection on you or what you did. I don't know why I felt so compelled to write that.
I really like that you wrote that you always stand by a bride's right to have her day, and it shows that you are a good friend and guest. Maybe as the day draws closer she may change her mind and invite your daughter at least, hopefully OH too :think:0 -

I totally do, I couldn't imagine my wedding any different to how we have planned it. My friends feature very highly in our wedding, I think I am upset its not the same with hers. But then totally appreciate she can do what she likes because its HER wedding. It is really irrational feeling.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
74Jax, what a shame your OH and DD aren't invited. I bet your DD is upset too. I have fingers crossed they will change their minds as it does seem a real shame.

quaveriw - I think you're within your rights to feel cross at not being told. How insensitive.
74jax - I echo what Dekazer said, it must have been horrible for you :grouphug: Not much else in terms of advice to add to what others have said though I'm afraid.0 -
Thanks loulou this will be my mantra:4)The final piece of advice is smile and keep calm..... everything will be worth it when you walk down that aisle and marry the love of your life.... everything else is irrelevant"We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
