I am a bridezilla and my confessions are.....

I wont have children at my ceremony! I've told people I dont have the room (which I kinda dont) but mostly I just don't want some brat screaming through my wedding! They are welcome to my evening do, but NOT the wedding. And if people moan they just wont get an invite :o

If people question my reasons for cupcakes instead of 'real cake', wearing black instead of white, and starting my reception at half past 4 with a buffet instead of a sit down meal, i will punch them!!!! What part of 'Its our day' don't people understand!?!

My other confession is that Im finding I'm starting to dislike people I used to! lol. Mainly as they keep using the line 'as your Mum isnt here, I will take this role' No you can take the role if I ask you too, not because my mum isnt here! And I don't constantly need to be reminded of that fact thanks very much

Think thats all for now :A

Spurs_gal - i'm totally with you on the "our day" thing. I have only been engaged for 6 weeks, wedding is in over 2 years time but i am already sick of hearing "... but it's traditional to do it this way". I am sorry but stuff tradition, we're doing it OUR way.
  • What's worse is when you get people telling you ought to do what you want as it's your wedding day and then in the next breath demand youdo something they think is right.

Wish people would qualify the sentence with "so long as it's what we want too" Grrrrr!

Exactly! At the end of the day, we're paying for it so we say what goes! Best one so far was my Nan saying we couldn't marry in the registry office as she's in a wheelchair  but just tutting when we explained thats what we could afford & they have wheelchair access! And coming a close second is the 'do what you like - its your day, but dont forget theres a dress for you to wear upstairs!' A dress, i might add, which I dont like, and is 4 sizes too big! And is covered in snowflakes for a May wedding hmmmm....Gotta love her! Also hate people saying 'Well I do work on a friday' Yes I know you do, but Im giving you 10months notice & its at half 3 in the afternoon so you dont even need to take the whole day off! Oooh, got me started now!

This is really silly and trivial and I'm not trying to make out it's in the same league as other problems people are having but hey this is the place to vent a bit....we're having our evening do in our local football club, we can't have the room for us until 7.30 as they show football on TV. We're quite welcome to go in the bar beforehand but anybody else can be in there, and they have promised they'll turn the room round and boot out other people in time for our do (I know the people there so I do trust them OK on that). But I'd really hoped the game wouldn't involve either one of the Liverpool or Manchester clubs as they're the ones that will get more people in there watching. Today I found out that the tea time game on TV is Chelsea v Everton so it will be packed and I am overly gutted as I'd hoping for something like Norwich v Sunderland (no offence to any fans of those teams!!). And what has made it even worse is that I am a huge Liverpool fan and we're playing Man Utd that day with a 12.45 kick off. Not only am I going to miss the game but I just KNOW I'll be wanting to know the score and then will get grumpy if we lose. God how much more irrational can I get!!

This is the place for trivial mentalism ellay. I'm sure it will work out on the day. Might even be fun x

Thanks codemonkey...just look out for pics of me forcing smiles if I've heard we've gone 2-0 down in the first 5 mins...or very unbridelike ones of me punching the air if I've heard that Gary Neville's just put in his own net. As for the evening...if Everton lose it could be great as nobody can have a go at a smiling bride :D
