I know how this is going to sound... but this *IS* the thread for the irrational and deranged thoughts you shouldnt say out loud...

the wedding is 6 days away and nobody has bought anything on our honeyfund guest list thing... nobody, not one thing.
has anyone else got an untouched gift list?

*sits back and hopes nobody starts on about how grubby it is asking for gifts / money

Oh no!! Maybe you just have very relaxed guests who're waiting til this week to contribute. Either that or you're getting 7 toasters and 30 towel bales. :rotfl:

Here is my irrational thought for the day. If my mother says "Oh" in that hyper ciritcal way of hers whenever I mention something to do with the wedding, I'm going to uninvite her. The "Oh" is inevitably followed up by a comment that is either wrong, or designed to make me feel bad.

Younger gothy me If I ever get married, I want it at midnight in a cemetary.
    Mum: Oh.

Me: I got a makeover at Shu Umera and bought eyeliner and mascara.
    Mum: Oh.
    Me: What?
    Mum: You don't wear eyeliner.
    Me: I wear it everyday.
    Mum: Oh.

    Me: Hello mum
    Mum: Oh.
    Me: What?
Mum: You look thin and ill in the face.

    Me: I've bought a bra.
    Mum: Oh
    Me: What?
Mum: You should get a shaping bodysuit to hide your belly.

Me: We've ordered some wooden rose centrepieces.
    Mum: Oh.
Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.

Hey - I know that feeling :rotfl:With mine its..."well I guess its your wedding". i.e. not what she would have done, but she then makes you question everything!!

Unfortunately i'm fairly early on in planning so plenty more opportunities!!

Oh well such is life I guess!!:rotfl:

  • Hi ladies I am just joining this thread, Im a bridezilla because:
I have only been planning my wedding for 2 months and Ive already had to tell my mother 4 times that if she doesnt like my decisions she doesnt have to come (we have 4 of our own children, yet she expects me to have my 4 nieces as well!)
And that I keep dropping hints at my teenage brother to see a doctor for his acne (massive big pus filled spots) and offered to take him for braces. Its not because I am a caring supportive sister, but because I dread the thought of my spotty Alan Carr lookalike being in all my gorgeous wedding pictures!! How evil am I!
Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!

Wow - what a horrible way to treat your brother. Young men often suffer from acne - get over it.
Getting married to a wonderful lady on August 10, 2012.

Need to save up, lose weight, reduce my money worries and get back to being the real me! :j

I think this has been mentioned numerous times on this thread but needs to be brought up every few pages- this is a thread to let people let some steam off without the judgemental-ness they know they will get somewhere else. Please bear this in mind.

Considering Ive pretty much brought my brother up since he was 3 months old and I was only 15, that I cared for him and my alcoholic mother while trying to take G.C.S.E's, and how even though he is adopted he is and always will be my brother, you still judge that I am treating my brother horribly!
I assumed this thread was somewhere for brides to be to make those lighthearted confessions of manic bridal behaviour, which we all know is maybe embarrassing or extreme, but where everyone else understands that is caused by the unbelievable stress and pressure that is put on brides! Maybe I was wrong, and I apologise if I have offended anyone, or if they believe I am a !!!!!!
