A pregnancy does not exist until the cells are implanted, therefore the MAP does not end a pregnancy, it prevents one. If it were a form of abortion there wouldn't be the 72 hour time limit.
If she's Catholic though, it's viewed very definitely. If I understand correctly, they deem that life has been created upon conception, as soon as the egg is fertalised. Anything done to end it, from this point onwards, is considered abortion.
But then again, strictly speaking, taking the contraceptive pill or using condoms also goes against the Catholic faith.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

Happened to my friend, but her boyfriend was a pharmacist and could tell her which one to go to to get it.
Poor you, euronorris.
Are they even allowed to refuse though? By law I mean?
I'm alright. I'm quite a strong willed character, so I soon set him straight. But I can easily understand how scary it must seem to an already frightened 16 year old girl.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Yes, I think they are allowed. In the same way that doctors and nurses can refuse to take part in abortions. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

Without wishing to antagonise, if the girl is indeed Catholic then she isn't a very strict one sleeping with her boyfriend before marriage, and using contraception in the first place (even if it has failed)."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." there is no religion involved, just some mis- information about the MAP and a very timid, embarressed girl who wouldnt say boo to a goose, she doesnt want a baby, she has ambitions to be a volcanologist, just need her to get up the courage to talk to a professional and take the pill0

I know. But, for a teenager, it's much easier to break the 'no sex before marriage' rule, than it is to take a pill, that you've been told all your life will kill your unborn baby (IF fertalisation has occurred). ie, 'Having sex before marriage is wrong, but God will forgive' versus 'Taking the morning after pill is a form of abortion. That would mean I would kill my unborn baby'.
I hope that makes sense.
This is all speculation anyway, she may not be Catholic at all.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
One of the ways the MAP is by trying to delay/stop ovulation so conception won't occur.
That may sway her feelings, however I have to say even though it says it stops the embryo implanting I know several people who still conceived and implanted despite taking it0 -
Judging by the local chemists, they wouldn't give it to her anyway (or the Pill), even with a valid prescription, because she is under 16. Presumably they prefer girls to be pregnant at 15 and vulnerable to concealed births.
And as for the 'education' in schools which is probably the only means of information she has to make her decisions on - I can't comment without lots of rude words!
Oh, and the MAP can make people so ill, they vomit constantly and this makes it next to useless. Far better to take more effective preventative methods - like instruction on how to make sure all the air is expelled from the top of the condom before putting it on.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Hope it all goes well OP.
I'm pregnant at 26, and it's scary enough. At 16 I think it would be terrifying, and that's without knowing the full impact a baby will make on you and your families lives.0 -
The condom split with my 4th baby and I did take the MAP as I wasn't wanting another at the time as my then husband and I were not getting on-however it failed and the pregnancy progressed -totally normally as it happened. It doesn't work for everyone.I have a 15 year old daughter and dread to think of her having sex and being in this situation.Debts Jan 2014 £20,108.34
