I did my renewal with the specialist team. Two weeks after renewing I called the mainline to find out if it had been processed, the figures were on the system and they could tell me the payment amounts and dates, but I didn't recieve the paperwork until a further two weeks (4 weeks in total).

I don't think we have been singled out as looking back at previous posts everyones circumstances are different, its maybe a few from each category e.g self employed, working, working with childcare, disabitly element etc.

I am beginning to wonder what is going off this year. Its a completely disorganised mess this year and there is people like me that cannot even renew because they obviously haven't sent out the renewal pack like they do normally. I thought it might had been the royal mail playing up, but the only letter that is missing now is Tax Credits Renewal pack. Nothing else..

my mum is i the same position, no renewal pack yet.....
have you rang them to see if they have sent it yet ?
  • I was quite looking forward to calling the specialist team as it seems they're getting stuff done quicker than the main helpline. My renewal pack finally arrived on Monday so I called up and got told they couldn't access my file. I suggested this may be because I was on a career break from HMRC and, as an employee, was dealt with separately. Their response was 'yeah, probably that then'. No suggestion as to what to do at all!

I called the number that I normally call and explained that I was meant to renew through the 'specialist team' but they couldn't access my file. The guy on the end of the phone started talking to me like I was an idiot, saying there was no such thing etc etc. I asked him if there were any notes on my file and he refused to look and just said he needed my end of year salary figures. I gave up and just went along with him. I'm gonna call again in a few days and see if it's gone through or not as I'm paranoid now that they won't process it because I should have renewed through the specialist team. It wouldn't be the first time they've mucked up my renewal.

What does the B and C stand for? How far back do they need the bills to go back? Please try not to worry too much, other people have been asked for more info too so you are not alone.:)

B&C stands for benefits and credits.

I also renewed via the main line waited and heard nothin. Constantly called to check if my award had been finalised... nothing! The last time i called 3 wks later i was then told that i needed to call the specialist line and was given the number! I called back the normal line again about half hour later and played stupid asking the opening hours of the specialist line. The advisor i got said she knew nothing of the specialist line!!!!

Anyway, i did call the number the following Monday morning first thing, got through straight away, details were taken. Called main line Wednesday and was told it had been finalised!!!!

Also was told from the specialist team i should have recieved a letter. Well till this day i still haven't....

No extra payments and my award has gone up exactly 2p! Esimated income £1400 more than actaual income?

that is weird cause the payment is not released until your award is finalised its new this year. have you recived your final award notice for this year?
No ive not had nothing at all. I rang main helpline to renew first as i couldnt get through to specialist team they took my income details n said thats fine and to ring back after afew days for new payment details so i rang back they said still processing so i rang specialist team told them what i had done they took my income details agen n that was it, then i got a letter saying i needed to send more info but when i went to the bank they had put my normal payment aswell as extra payment. I really dont understand why. Has this happend to anyone else??

I renewed by post just over a week ago and logged into my online banking yesterday to find 2 extra payments on the 17th for working tax and child tax credits. Still no final notice through yet though so will have to wait till tomorrow to see what appears in account for my normal payment.

Did you have a specialist letter or just usual renewal?
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Having renewed 3 weeks ago and being told every time that I have phoned to check on progress that my case is still waiting to be processed manually I received a provisional award in the post today.

The information on this award is based on my old information i.e. the info they had PRIOR to me phoning up to renew - they have not used ANY of my renewal information to produce this notice.

I phoned to ask why and they just said your renewal has not yet been processed, until it is we have to use your old information. As I am fully expecting my payments to decrease once they do process my renewal this will mean that if they continue to pay me based on my old information I will have an immediate OVERPAYMENT and I will owe them money.

What is the point of asking us to renew immediately and then them ignoring the renewal information and carrying on paying on the old basis and causing even more problems. I am very unhappy.
