To taxcreditshelp, I take it for those people who have renewed over the main help line as normal without recieving a letter from the specialist team will recieve a phone call or letter from the specailist team regardless asking for more info! Is that what you are saying! If this is the case, should hmrc of conducted the renewal process in one simple way which would apply to everyone regardless of the size of award or circumstance it would of been alot more fairer and people would of taken it alot more better knowing that everyone else is being treated the same. I bet most of the clamates you sent specialist letters felt they were personally being targeted. Please could you confirm that?
Very true, if you work most claims are over 8k so these letters would only apply to the ones who work. So basicaly if you claim dss you wont have any problems but if you work you get all this worry. Everyone that claims taxcredit should be treated the same no matter how small or large the claim is. Not singled out like whats happened here

I only have my p60 and thats all im sending, im not fannying about getting wage slips and such. They should chase the ppl who screw the benefit systems over, not honest working ppl like us. Its worrying me and really annoying me

I'm still waiting for p60 but it should be here in the next week or so, i will just have to send that and a letter telling them to contact my employer and childcare provider to prove my situation their not going to tell them any different to what i already have but if thats what it takes to prove it. Isnt that there job anyway, i dont think any of this is fair on us its like if your on dss you can sit back and relax while doing nothing but sat around all day. But if you work you have to prove it and have all this worry while trying to work full time run a home and bring up children. What a joke it is. Maybe they want us all on the dole seems easier for them that way

Well I wont have any of the proofs they need, I am self employed, no one keeps track of any hours I work, and I dont get payslips or P60's. Apparently they are trying to let the specialist team link up with the self assesment site so they can prove it that way though.

I'm going to send p60 soon as it comes and let them contact work and childminder for other details its not as if they asked us to keep hold of receipts and wages slips for the whole year and they have never asked before. Hopefully they will sort the rest out and give us notice that they require them next time. I wil keep you posted on what happens xx

I didn't get letter frm specialist team but have been following this thread,I rang 1st to tell main helpline that I have changed to a new childcare provider starting frm April 2010 means costs gone down by half, wasn't able to renew as didn't recieve renewal pack, plus didn't have all info ready. Just this Thursday renewed and informed them they they paid me an extra £37 aweek x 52 in childcare,(after doing my maths kids didn't go for a couple of weeks to childcare in some of the holidays) informed them of overpayment and how silly I feel for over looking it considering it is my 1st full year in employment! Lady was really nice, yet can't help but feel like a hav a BIG FAT lump in my throat they their gonna be contacting for somthing because of the changes and how it might not tally in with what info they have on thier system, bearing in mind it was me that informed them of the overpayment. Scared to death how they are going to deal with my claim, how much there going to take out and in what manner I will be dealt with? What I have learnt frm Reading this thread, that tax credits this year is unpredictable and they will deal with u as and when according to their wim! The system is set out to be random!

I think they wil deduct it from remaining payments for this year as it the same claim. I knw when my friend started a new claim she owed frm a old claim and the wouldnt deduct it because it wasnt the same claim she was overpaid on. She had to send 40 pound per month minimum by cheque or postal order. But with yours its the same claim so i think they wil deduct it frm remaining payments. You wont get in trouble just have to pay it back. I wouldnt worry about it least you told them. Hope this helps
