Borgie.
If you didnt receive a letter TELLING you to ring the specialist renewal team then you DONT need to renew that way.
Just ring the normal helpline number.
Joanne
I just rang them again they cannot help me - all they know is the claim is showing that it is still to be processed -they can't or won't tell me why it hasn't been or when it will be. I was wondering if I asked the specialist team whether they would know whether they have to look at my claim - it maybe I should have got a letter.
About November last year I DID get a letter from a seperate team - I had to phone them and do a check through all my info - I am wondering if that has anything to do with things,0 -
Hi! I have been reading this for weeks now. I need to renew through specialist team too. I am worried sick as I have under estimated my income for 2009/2010 by £3.5k. Everything else is fine, I told them about changes as soon as it happened. Has anyone else been in the same situation, what has happened?
Hi emmaan.
Dont worry , just ring up to renew and give them you ACTUAL earnings figure.
They will renew your award and you will receive 39% of the 3.5 which you under estimated back in a lump sum payment.
Owing to my husband changing jobs etc through the year , our household income was actually around 5 or 6 thousand less than we had estimated .
I called the helpline on thurs 29th April to renew , gave them our actual income figures and within ONE WEEK we had our new payments sorted and a lovely 1.5 k lump sum in the bank
All within a week :T well done tco
Joanne
ps I WORK IT OUT THAT THEY OWE YOU *AROUND* £1,4000 -

hi Borgie.
Come to think of it , i actually got a letter from them around February time......it said something along the lines of "are you getting the correct level of payments"?
It asked me to call a number between 8am+5pm but i cant remember now what the number was?
It said something abouty "give us a ring and we can go through your details to make sure you are receiving the correct amounts".
I tried for a few days to get through on the number but couldnt , it said that there was an answering machine where you could leave your details and they will ring you back during the next days business hours , but there was NO answering machine and after the line not being answered after me trying for many days , i just gave up trying and forgot about it until you just mentioned it !:rotfl:
It doesnt seem to have affected my renewal though seeing as how mine is sorted
Give them a ring if it eases your mind.
i know exactly how you are feeling , i rely on my tax credits an awful lot

Oh i apologise , i picked you up wrong , im sorry .
Ok , the best thing to do is renew NOW ! The payments you have been getting since April 6th are "provisional payments" which means they are based on the earnings details they hold on your family NOW . this means that for every week you receive these payments you are getting paid more than you should which means when you renew your opayments for the rest of your award are going to be lower!
You really need to get renewals done asap.
Joanne
ps dont worry too much , what with the tax credit increases for the year 2010/2011 , your overpayment wont be a massive amount .0 -

hi, i under estimated my in come by 3.5k too. i had to renew through the specilist team. i did about 3 weeks ago now.they didn t say anything when i told them the correct figure..just asked if thats what was on my p60. last week i received a provisional for 2009/2010 and 2010/2011. there has been no mention of what t i have to pay back at the moment. i had to send my decalaration off for 2009/2010 and will be updated then..ive been worried about what i will have to pay back so ive been on the tax credits calculater and it shows the same amount for both amounts..(so i might not have anything to pay back..i am single and work part time with 2 kids so my wage isnt very high..i think it will depend on the income you have..put your mind at rest and ring..then do the calculater..x0 -
They have told me that my tax credits are going to take between 3-6 weeks to sort out
.....I rely on mine to pay the bills and DDs every month......I have an appointment with the bank tomorrow to see if i can get an overdraft to cover the bills.....thank goodness for the moneysaving oldstyle board....i have enough food and meals for 6 weeks in the freezer...Otherwise we would be in severe difficulties!! I did tell them that I have children under 16 but it made no difference, also asked them if they could make an intrim/emergency payment i got a big fat NO......so into more debt and danger for me then until its sorted!! :jIm going to be frugal:j:DIm going to be frugal:D;)Im going to be frugal;)Beetlejuice Beetlejuice...................:rotfl:0 -
yes gone up by £16 per week
Emmaan - i think maybe whamfanuk has mis-read your post as well ?
I think they also think that you have UNDER estimated your income ?
Whamfanuk from what i can gather has been the same as myself a and has had an UNDERPAYMENT from tax credits this year and thats why they have received a lumpsum AND increased payments?

Hi remember that if you are on SMP you must not include it on you actual earnings or the year (take it off taxable earnings), so depending how long you have been on maternity it might a lot less than £3.5k that you over estimated. Good luck:)Mortgage Feb 2015 £178,500 END 2043!!
MFW 2015 £100 /£1000
Watch this space, my MF end date will tumble!!0
