  • I didnt get a letter, but phoned to see what was happening with my claim, and they gave me a number for a specialist team, phoned them just now and they went through all my details, asked if everything I said was true and read a disclaimer advising if your telling porkies you will be fined 3K...She said is was processed and I should get my notice in a few weeks.
  • Has anyone actually received their finalisation paperwork? I received an additional payment 2 weeks ago so curiously I phoned them up and they informed me it had been finalised. I still haven't received any paperwork though detailing the finalisation. Is this normal to take this long?

NB - I completed my finalisation by mail in the normal way (the extra payment took approx 1 week) and I was not selected for the Specialist Renewal team as far as I am aware.

What is taking them so long? If they can process adjusted payment and the additional payment within a week, why can't they get the paperwork out explaining what is happening?

I was actually told over the phone it has been renewed and gone through. I did ask why I hadn't received the paperwork yet but the advisor wasn't very helpful just said, "Don't know, it can take up to 2 weeks". Well it's been 2 weeks now and nothing.

I just think the postal department of the Tax Credits office must be backlogged and that is the delay... just seems odd that they can manage to organise the payments to change but not send out the actual letter.

Think he means the specialist renewal team. I wasn't one of the people who was selected for that method so can't help.

Maybe if can phone the normal helpline number and explain to them. I am sure they will be able to direct you.

Not really sure what you mean completely with that but try and calm down. I could make out that you told them of a change of circumstance, anything what happens after that is beyond your control. If they have messed up and not changed it then it is their fault and not yours.
