  • That sounds very unreasonable of them. Hope you managed to sort it all out quickly and you get any back dated pay owed to you asap. Good luck

Yes I would imagine you would get an underpayment, hopefully in the next few weeks. It wont be loads, but a little something.

I was just wondering whether everyone recieves a one off payment or whether its down to circumstances? My actual income was £1400 less than my estimated income.

My claim was finalised yesterday, called 2day to find out more. They said i would recieve a one off payment on Monday which is £6 more than my regular payment (i recieve payments on Mondays anyway) then my regular payment from the 24th! Is this one off payment on top of my usual payments or is it just that payment? They didnt say they jus mentioned a one off payment 17th then £xxx from the 24th!

Thankyou!! ill give it a ring now:j
  • There are around 10 different numbers for the Specialist Renewals Team and the number you are asked to call depends on the first letter of your surname. I don't know all the numbers but I do know those with a surname beginning with the letters A to H should call 0845 600 5044 but only if they've received a Specialist Renewal Letter. Please don't call this number otherwise, or if you have a surname beginning with any other letter as we won't be able to fully process your renewal and update the system.

The final award letters can take 3 to 4 weeks to be issued and the post room is exceptionally busy just now as some renewal packs are still being issued and there are still a large number of people renewing by post... not to mention the countless other items of correspondence that pass through the post room on a daily basis. As soon as you complete your renewal the system will recalculate your award and issue any payment automatically within 3 days (or so), and no human intervention is required. Hope this clarifies things.

This has not been the case with myself - I renewed 2 weeks ago and yet they have not recalculated my award and no payment has been made - if no human intevention is required why would this be? - when I phone they say it's becasue they are busy and I will get a letter? I am really worried now

    Hi Borgie.

I received my tax credits renewal documents on thurs 29th April . I telephone them that same day to renew , giving them all my income details for the year.

On thurs 6th May , so just SEVEN DAYS LATER i had my new payments up and running and also a large lump sum which they owed me from last year.

I was well happy ! That turnaround time just couldnt be faulted.

    Well done TCO :T

i would advise that you give the helpline a call , just to check your award IS being processed . At least that way it will give you peace of mind.

    Joanne
