    Hi Borgie.

I received my tax credits renewal documents on thurs 29th April . I telephone them that same day to renew , giving them all my income details for the year.

On thurs 6th May , so just SEVEN DAYS LATER i had my new payments up and running and also a large lump sum which they owed me from last year.

I was well happy ! That turnaround time just couldnt be faulted.

    Well done TCO :T

i would advise that you give the helpline a call , just to check your award IS being processed . At least that way it will give you peace of mind.

    Joanne

Thanks Joanne and I am really glad they were effcient with you - BUT I have phoned them a few times and all they will say is that it is on the system and I will recieve a letter - they will not say when or even if it will be renewed - I am going to try the specialist team today to see if there is a flag on my account but nothing is happening from the renewal I made on the phone to the Mainline number.

I did not receive a letter from the specialist team but am wondering whether I was supposed to as my award is over 8.5k

    Hi Borgie.

I didnt receive a letter from the specialist team either . It was just the normal helpline i renewed through.

Owing to my husband loosing his job last year , our award is large as well , just over 10k .

Ps . hopefully you get sorted soon . I take it you are still receiving your provisional payments?

I am due to get my next usual tax credit payment on 28 May as far as I know I should still get it. I just don't understand why 2 weeks from me renewing nothing has happpened ! Well nothing they will tell me about anyway !

Oh right , you see i get my payments on a weekly basis , i find it easier to budget that way.

I personally (and i know its been said somewhere on the boards before NOT to do ths) would keep ringing until they are either able to tell me :

    a) when i will be receiving my new payments

    or

    b) Exactly what the hold up is and an estimated date of WHEN they plan to have it sorted !

Hi! I have been reading this for weeks now. I need to renew through specialist team too. I am worried sick as I have under estimated my income for 2009/2010 by £3.5k. Everything else is fine, I told them about changes as soon as it happened. Has anyone else been in the same situation, what has happened?

    Borgie.

If you didnt receive a letter TELLING you to ring the specialist renewal team then you DONT need to renew that way.

Just ring the normal helpline number.
