The lady off the specialist team who I spoke to said that the letters going out asking for more info were generic ones being sent out and if you had renewed with them over the phone then to just ignore it.

If you're worried you could just phone up the main help line number and see if everything is finalised. It should show on their screens by now if it is :)

Although getting a specialist letter, I renewed via the main number 1) because 8-5 is not a convenient time cos I at work and 2) because when I did try the specialist number it just rang and rang. The main number said they would put a note on my account and told me to renew via them. Anyway I renewed on Monday 26th April - received an extra payment in my back that same week on the Friday and then the following week noticed my payments had increased (not by much dont' get me wrong, literally by 34p) anyway I have not received any paperwork yet - I just assume they will be on route in due course, with printing and post etc. there can often be delays. I have not received any letters requesting more info. I am assuming my claim has been done as I have received an extra payment and a change in my usual payment - I mean how can they give you more money and new payments if they have not completed your claim/renewal - it doesn't make sense??? They would have had to enter the details onto their systems in order to release an extra payment and change my usual payment amount(s).

Has anyone else who has now received letters requesting more info received extra payments and a change to their usual payments?????

Has anyone else who has received an extra payment and a change to their usual payment reeived their award notifications yet???

Angel1978, was the lady you spoke to talking about the 'help you renew letter' or this additional letter asking for more information?
I renewed on tuesday over specialist line the women was very helpful explained she was there to help and no one was under suspision. There were a few errors on my declaration i.e child's name wrong and dates of changes to nursery cost. I have had provisionals through this year with the right information so know this is not my error. She corrected all this and said it was all finalised. Spoke to main line today who confirmed payments and that all sorted.
I was very unsure about this letter when first arrived but wish I hadn't worried just think they are trying to improve system, however unsuccessfully ! Sorry to go on just wanted to keep you upto date.

Check the dates on your letter and your award notices, maybe they have crossed in the post, especially if they have been dealt with by another department.

Pinkpigg, my payment has also alted gone down £2 and I have been told I will get an extra payment on monday, not really sure why as I under estimated my wages by £300, so would have thought it would have been the other way round.

I had mistakes in the spellings of my kids names a few years back - every time I phoned about them, a different mistake in spelling would appear so I got really pee'd off and stopped ringing about it. I had 2 of my kids go to an afterschool club, when one of them moved into secondary school I got a new job and increased my hours which then meant my youngest had to go to a before and afterschool club which increased the amount I was paying from £26 per week to £43 per week - I rung and went through the change etc. They changed the figures, but never changed the fact that only one child is in childcare - I rung them, they said they had changed it but still it shows I have 2 in childcare - as the figure is correct I can't be bothered going on about it anymore - If they can't get the staff to input the right details it aint my problem!!!!

No she said would be about 10 days, so hopefully next week, fingers crossed. My childcare cost went up in july with increased hourly rate at nursery and I rang and informed them, they sent out a notice everything as should be. However the annual renewal says this change occur on 27th April, no idea why. She said she may not change it as it was their error and didn't want me to have to pay it back. I said I'd rather it be right as probably come back to haunt me later on. So just hope it has been corrected, seems wrong she can decide whether to change it or not. Took her name down and time of call as well just in case.

Gayle123: When I phoned to renew etc. they asked me if any thing would change my award this year - I told them that my eldest child will come out of education in June - the lady tried to put it on the system but came back and told that they couldn't do it until 30 days before the change was due to happen - I mean why ask me then????!!!!! After my initial call to renew and after my initial interrogation (well it felt like that) the lady told me I may or may not receive an award notice when I questioned this she said I may get a letter requesting more information!!!!??? I rung back the helpline shortly after my initial call and the lady that I spoke with checked my file and said everything was fine and that my renewal had all gone through and would process over night. I assume this happened as I have received an extra payment and a change to my normal payments. I assume if they wanted more info they would have contacted me by now I mean it is nearly 2 weeks since. I just assume my award notice will arrive in due course. As long as my money is going in I am not too worried.
