I can see why she questioned your childcare costs if you went back to work after 1 week after giving birth !!!!!!! - it is illegal to work for 2 weeks after having a baby ( 4 if you work in a factory)0

Hi, I renewed through the specialist line last friday. I dont have any childcare. They asked about income and asked me to confirm d.o.b and names of my children and my hubbys name and d.o.b. They also asked for a contact number incase they needed more info. Not heard anything as yet.

Hi, well I renewed using the specialist team, and I have to say I spoke to a lovely lady she really couldn't have been nicer. It was much more pleasant than previous times I have renewed. I wasn't asked in depth questions regarding my childcare all I had to do was confirm everything with her, childrens names, dob's, income and childcare provider. Easy.
She did mention that it is taking sometime for the awards to be printed and then it usually takes up to 10 days after that to be received through the post, but not to worry. She also told me that I didn't need to call that number again if I needed to speak to Tax credits then to use the normal number.
Witter: I know what you are saying and I still haven't fully got over my enquiry in 2006! I always have a little panic attack when I have to phone tax credits. They found nothing wrong and I make sure that I always give 110% the correct information, but you always have that doubt that there is a black mark beside your name. Try not to worry, easier said than done I know. If you have nothing to hide and have done nothing wrong then the worst they can do is ask for information to check the validity of your claim.
On the other hand they have to do their checks afterall I am sure there are some shady people out there that do claim for something they are not entitled to, and how would they know if they didn't check things from time to time?
Keep strong, you know in your own mind that if you are right. I would suggest that if you need any support that CAB are very good and if all else fails contact your local MP, it is part of his or her responsibilties to help people having issues with Tax credits.

we are trieing to fight for the childcare to be paid direct to us ( im a childminder) they say it 2 difficult which is pant, when we do not get paid the person still gets the payment plus an extra 4 wks and we dont get a wage, and in this situation would help them to find out my income instead of getting me to send info in wast of time, but we all need the money wish we didnt xx:eek:0 -
I had my daughter on the saturday and was back in work the second monday after which was just over a week and i didnt claim the childcare straght away it was a couple of months after as my sister looked after her til i felt the time was right for someone else to look after her
Your either a hero or a fool cant quite make my mind up to be honest.
Also readin back through your posts you have nobody to blame but yourselft for the situation you find yourself in, you were specifically asked like the rest of us to renew via the specialist tem, you "chose" of your own accord to pester tha main number which in turn then misinformed you and took your renewal.
If you had paid attention to thsi thread you would have seen long before you phone all to the main number that Tax Credit Help quite clearly pointed out this was not the way to do it and if you did your claim would be put in a work pile.
End of really dont mean to be heartless but me starting to think the lady does protesteth too much!
We all hae to renew every year you are no different, learn the lesson and next time simply do as they ask you to do.

I tryed to call the specialist team but couldnt get though i tryed after 5pm as someone posted on here they are still in the office after that time, no answer phone to leave message so yes after worrying all week i did call the main helpline and questioned as to why i couldnt get through they lady said it didnt matter which way i renewed it would be processed the same way and started to ask my details. So yes i gave them to her and she said thats my bit done for this year and i wil get a few award notices in the post and i could ring tuesday to get new award details. So for doing this i should be spoke to the way i was?? Maybe they should sort out the way they handle thing and it wouldnt be like this. Also i received my renewal though 2 weeks before the specialist letter. so what if i would of renewed before i received this letter. I would of been in the same possition i am now0
