I rang Main number 2 weeks ago, spoke to a nice lady who took information and said all done.
Called today to check and advise still being processed, what does this mean. I did get Specialist letter but after looking on Forum rang the main line number.
What does processed mean..... the guy today said would be a little longer and would probably get a few notices, so have I renewed or not. I am still receiving payments in fact got an increase can anybody tell me.
Was not stressed but am now, I have done everything correctly I think....0 -

If you've received a letter from the Specialist Renewals Team but renewed through the main Tax Credit Helpline as usual, your annual declaration won't have fully processed and will have dropped onto a worklist to be reviewed. An adviser will attempt to call you (and if unable to reach you, send you a letter) and go through the Specialist Renewals process. There was some mis-communication at the start of the process and the main Tax Credit Helpline should have referred you onto the specialist team rather than take your details themselves. Your Tax Credit award won't be affected by this but to prevent receiving a phone call or additional letter I recommend you call the Specialist Renewals team on the number printed on your letter.0 -
i have not had a specialist letter but my award is over £8500 i sent my renewal via post wednesday 21st over 2 weeks ago i called on 30th and they said that there is nothing on the screen yet im a bit worried because someone else said that theres was marked as recieved im sure mine would arrived by 30th that is 9 days does anyone know how long the renewals are taking i informed them my partner moved in on 5th apri 2010 so i no longer recieve tax credits but i was under the impression i still had to do my renewal for last year could it be held up because my claim is closed? really worried and dont want to keep calling i earned £1000 less than estimated last year and was hoping that there might be a underpayment will i still get it as my claim is now closed?0

i agree witter.... i probably would be better off not working but as my DH has an unstable/low income i like the stability my job holds and if in dire straites i can always go to full time, but hate been treated like this... she even implied i earned a lot for my 16 hours... i do because i have a good job!!
Although people may disagree with the principle of tax credits were entitled to it and at least were working to pay some tax back into the system so shouldnt get treated like criminals!0 -
hiya ive just been thourgh the same i rang after i got a specialist letter on the number on the letter. The lady was not at all help full quesioned my childcare with an attatude why is my childcare so high. i have 3 children and i work fulltime. frm 7.30am i leave to take children to childcare provider on the bus drop them off the at least an hour on the bus to work. I work till 4.30pm leave work pick the children up then home but it doesnt stop there. Feed the children, get them in the bath and still got loads to do washing cleaning homework, i dnt get to bed til gone 12am the back up at 5.30am to start again. What more do they want me to do. Every year i renew no problem. But because ive ad a baby my childcare went up, i went straight back to work after having baby 1 week i took off work. Then i get this letter to ring specialist team and they wil help me renew between 8am and 5pm. I work full time mon to fri. But i gave them a ring frm work, now i feel i shouldnt claim childcare because of the way she spoke to me. Ive done nothing wrong they set the whole childcare thing up then intimidate working mothers like they shouldnt claim it. I was sent home frm work monday as i was really upset and my manager said i couldnt work while i was under that sort of presure. Ive not been in work since monday all i feel like doing is crying i feel so stressed since the letter came. I wish i had never rang the specialist team now maybe i wouldnt feel like this. I think its cheaper for them if we was all on benifits. It seems like the easiest option at this time
I can see why she questioned your childcare costs if you went back to work after 1 week after giving birth !!!!!!! - it is illegal to work for 2 weeks after having a baby ( 4 if you work in a factory)0 -

Its gone to far all this now, i really dont no what to do anymore. I dnt understand how much they expect childcare to cost as they want it to be registerd but registerd childcare comes at a price. I also was made to feel like i had done something wrong like a criminal interview. Do you knw if theres anyway to complain about how they are speaking to people? Ive sat a home since i cnt even sleep at nite because i cnt stop thinking about this mess. I'm going to try get in touch with my local mp about all this as i dnt knw what else to do0 -

Hi, I renewed through the specialist line last friday. I dont have any childcare. They asked about income and asked me to confirm d.o.b and names of my children and my hubbys name and d.o.b. They also asked for a contact number incase they needed more info. Not heard anything as yet.
