I got my renewal pack through on Friday and rang the specialist number that day.
Was very painless,very helpful guy on the phone who just ran through some basic ID checks,ran through what my award was,any changes etc
All done within 3 or 4 minutes and he told me it was all fine and I would receive my award notice as usual within 2 to 3 weeks.0 -

I wasn't sure if I was going to get a normal payment so I thought it best to phone up and ask about that. He was well off with me though. The first negative experience i've had with tax credits at all!
So you phoned up on Monday... confirmed on Tuesday 20th your details and then you had normal payment on Weds and then extra payment on Friday 23rd? That's quite quick then isn't it?! Hopefully mine will be sorted by Friday then if I rang it through on Monday. My payment isn't due until Friday so hopefully either way it'll be sorted!
Hi Angel1978, Yea that is right I confirmed on tuesday 20th had our normal weekly payment on wed 21st then 1st one of payment on friday 23rd then 2nd one off payment on tues 27th then back to normal payment today.
My friend renewed her on friday and has a one off payment in her account today so yours shouldnt be long off now I would have thought. But you will still get your normal payment (that you were getting before you renewed) on friday I doubt that will change cos its bacs payment and they send it to your bank account 3 working days before you get it if that makes sense0 -

But i also recieved the letter and was a bit worried, i havent got my renewal pack wish it would hurry up so i can get it over and done with!!
Just wondering though if anyone has the number for the specialist team as think ive threw it out!

Many thanks for confirming for me. Hopefully all will go smoothly tomorrow then!!! The bank holiday was worrying me a little but it doesn't matter as long as I get the usual payment! Bills, bills bills!!!0 -

Would like to know though if anyone has renewed by the main number ONLY despite getting a letter from the rewewal specialist and had their renewal completed - ie. payments and award notices??? (Chance would be a fine thing getting through the number on the letter from the specialist team).0

We're in the same boat then! Last year mine was sorted in 2 days so it is a little worrying. Hopefully it'll be sorted soon!0 -
Angel1978: Hopefully soon!! It is worrying definately, specially when so many of us depend on this money. I would like to think if they thought something was not right on the claim that they would not have been able to continue with the renewal etc. I was told that it had gone through but the woman was really off so I phoned back a little while later and was told that it had gone through and all was fine and that they process over night and that I should received my notices in the next couple of weeks - I will be happy once I have these! Can't believe they questioned and questioned my income but not my childcare - bizarre!!!!0

Well Pinkpigg at least you're a step ahead of mine then. Mine hasn't been finalised yet. It is showing as processing on their screens. Not sure what that means lol. I don't think i'm due any extra payment other than the usual (no underpayment) but when it comes to the Tax Credits and the horror stories you hear, you just like to know it is sorted so that you can move on to the next problem in your life! LOL!
They didn't question anything about mine. Just took all the details (as i'm self employed I had them to hand) and said thank you, that is the renewal process complete!0 -
Angel1978: I have not phoned back since I was told they process overnight - i am just assuming that mine has processed overnight and that nothing is holding it up. It is difficult to keep phoning due to the nature of my job! I didn't have my P60 to hand which they kept on asking me about but I did have my month 12 payslip which is an accumultive figure and has all the details that my P60 would hold!! They also kept asking me had I read the final award notice - why would I phone before having read through???!!!! Arghhhh!! So have you phoned the specialist renewal team too or just the normal helpline number??0
