Hi Budget Mum! The phone no. I was given was 0845 600 5254 - this no. automatically reverts to message service after 5 p.m. not like the helpline no. which stays open till ?8 p.m.
Hope you get thru and paperwork arrives.
I'm still waiting for Award Notice although as previously stated did receive my paperwork back..you would think they could post more than 2 items in one envelope.....
Keep smiling thru gritted teeth!!:)0 -

Hiya as long as you have told them all the correct information you have nothing to worry about. If you don't have childcare receipts can you not contact your childcare provider and ask them to provide receipts for you?0 -
Ive recently recieved a letter saying that to make sure we get your payments right please can you send us the following:
childcare contract
reciepts/proof of payment to childcare
p60
all wage slips from your job
any p45 you may have recieved
proof of hours worked
In September last year i wrote to tell them that childcare had stopped due to my child starting school so i dont understand why they are asking for childcare but when i think about i cant remeber if i recieved a letter saying they have recieved this letter and the money never went down but i thought it gets rectified when the new renewal comes out (my circumstances have never changed before) .
I did fill in the annual review form and only filled in the income details but i cant think if i read or saw anything about childcare on the form as i was in a rush to get it sent off as i was late.
Im panicking now because if it was on the form then ive signed agreeing to childcare details and also i can't send them any details on childcare payments as he has not been in nursery for a year, i can send the proof of earnings etc.
Has anyone had any dealings with this specialist team before, its obvious i would have recieved overpayment i am aware of this but dont know what to do about the change i sent them as i dont think i have a copy of the letter and also i didnt get proof of posting but i defintley let them know about it.
please help!!
thanks you in advance
The renewal asks you to tick a box where you agree/disagree that all your details on the award are correct. If you ticked yes and your personal details included childcare provider details then you've indicated the info held is correct.
Call the helpline and confirm the details about your childcare, i.e. name of provider, end date, child/children affected, costs etc. Some letters never get delivered and many people aren't checking to see updates have been made, so could still have old details on the system.
Anytime you send a letter it may help to keep a copy and use registered post or similar.0 -
Have just rec'd 2 letters 2day in 2 envelopes..one contradicts the other in that one states still have qualifying child and the other says not!!
I did advise them that as of September 16yr old staying on to study for qualifications up to A level so I presumed (?wrongly) that I should still receive a child tax credit.
Apparently not - have tried to ring but after 2 mins and all the pressing of new 1,2,3, etc etc was informed by voicemail to try ringing at another time!!
On the website it states a child element "may be paid" for young people under 20...What does this actually mean - advised them she is staying at her present local education provider....
PLEASE CAN ANYONE ADVISE ME IF THIS IS CORRECT OR AM I MISREADING THE STATEMENT...
Thank you - this site is a Godsend....0 -

It depends on what dates are on the awards, and which one is the latest. Are these awards being issued as you've recently completed your renewal?
The amount of entitlement due after finalising your previous year award will also affect what it says on the award. How much was the final income for the previous year? If the amount of deductions to be made reduce your entitlement to less than the basic family element for the year (£545) it may well say no child entitlement.0 -
spoke to someone today at the tax office who told me that you and I both know that the tax credit system isn't perfect. For people who get multiple award notices in the same day but saying the opposite there is a simple reason for this.
It is a simple computer error. For some issues like Child Care it doesn't always accept changes input first time.
So when the officer re-enters the system to check their changes have been accepted they often find they have to do it again 2, 3 or more times until it sticks.
Unfortunately if the officer doesn't select a non-change of circumstances option when committing to the change first time then it will at that point issue a notification.
As the change hasn't yet gone through then the officer has no choice but to send a second notification. There are all bar coded or referenced on the form so look for the notice with the larger number and you'll have the right one.
Also to counteract this issue some officers make separate changes one after the other as a system fix which in itself results in conflicting information but should have a final version on the system reflecting your current change of circumstances.0 -

I will get the receipts but I have had many changes over 09/10 & its just the stress of the situation. I've gone from part time to full time so its all the little things building up. I can understand why the team are checking but its just so much more when its you on the spot. I am getting all the paperwork together so hopefully should be able to send it all off very soon0 -
Have just got thru after a million zillion attempts (well..thats what it feels like..)
Anyway, after listening to the music -thats a good sign instead of the answerphone message kicking in - got thru to a person after 17 mins only to be told I had pressed the wrong button!!!! No I didn't...couldn't help me and put me on hold - further music...after 20 minutes - about to give up.. a very Scottish bright perky voice spoke and it took less than 60 seconds to update my circumstances as she said that this hadn't been done - although I did this in July!!!!! Said she would send out a new Award Notice with updated information - had her on speakerphone so have a witness.!!!! The lengths you go to to save your sanity...
P.S. Love the Scottish - Bless you Dad.- you died too young:A..0 -
i haven't read the whole thread but need some advice, we claimed for the first time about 8 weeks ago, a few days after i had my daughter, we've called a few times and been told it's been referred to the specialist team, and that they can't tell us anything more, we haven't had a letter from them or anything, are we supposed to have had a letter, and what is this specialist team, surely they can't just say that and not give you an update! thanksEmily Sophia arrived 11 days early on 26/8/10 at 16:43 weighing 6lbs6oz0
