Well I have renewed, and then got about 6 letters in the post, all contradicting the other. They have out my childcare costs in for last year as £0, and my childcare costs for this year as £200 per week. I quite clearly stated that I pay £100 in total per week for both kids, wasit really that hard to push the number buttons that corresponded to that amount??? Another wasted day on the phone, or trying to get through on the phone, to the poxy HMRC. I am tempted not to claim next year.!!

Ratcliffe, do these people we are dealing with actually know what they are doing? Maybe they are giving us some sort of endurance test and if we pass we get a "special" bonus. I feel really sorry for the people who can't deal with all this stress. Mind you, I don't think I can take much more of it! Maybe they are trying to make it as hard as possible to get any sense out of them so we don't claim again?

toonbaz i have read lots of your comments on here many of them sarcastic about how people are getting money while waiting and how stressful it must be to get thousands for nothing, I can only assume that you are a person who doesnt have to claim or have had yours sorted and/or are a person that doesnt get stressed, but people on here are genuinely upset about not finalising their tax credits yet that they depend on and worry about overpayments, and sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, so if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything.

to be fair its not just my comments that have sarcasm in them.
i do have to claim as it happens and i dont have any problem with the amount of money people receive, im well aware they are entitled to this and depend on it. i just really cant understand why all the stress when payments are continuing. i know the whole set up for tax credits is far from perfect but there are people in far worse situations who really do have reason to get stressed out.
i suspect with cutbacks in all government departments that more people are going to have to deal with delays in the future both with things being processed and actually contacting the helpline.

Toonbaz - well thanks a bunch for being so understanding  Yes, 10 weeks of waiting and trying to get some answers when no one can tell you what is happening is stessful. Good for you though if everything in your camp is fine.

I really won't bother posting again. What a horrible sarcastic person you are! I'll leave you to help people on here in your understanding way. :(

"any1 know what they do with the info when they receive it?"?? Well first of all they get a cup of coffee, then they read info you have sent, this is passed over to Fred who is working his way through the "what do I do with this tray". Fred has no idea either so passes it onto another department. Two months later claimant is still phoning to ask what has happened to their renewal. Fred denies all knowledge of ever having seen info sent

Seriously though, this is getting beyond a joke. Yesterday, I sent a letter to my MP. Hopefully, she will be able to help me. After almost 10 weeks of waiting I've given up! I'll let you know what happens. As I said before, it might be around Christmas time.

if you want to talk about sarcasm, have a look through some of your previous posts first will you, one of them is above.
if you want to look through my posts on other threads you will find that i have offered advice to many on here, i dont come on here to get into a slanging match, i was merely expressing my opinion that i dont understand why people are so stressed, as i said i think a lot more people are going to have to put up with longer waits in the future.

Toonbaz - the difference in what I posted is that it was light hearted humour and wasn't hurtful or sarcastic to anyone on here, unlike your previous comments.

This will be my last posting on here so good luck everyone and thanks for all the helpful comments and suggestions. I'll plod on doing what I'm doing and maybe soon I'll get a result.

i still don't know what i should do, i managed to get through twice to normal helpline, both times to be told everything is fine, just a delay, they received my claim renewal on 3 June, i have had no contact from them whatsoever.
i was hugely relieved to see i got my payment today, i half expected i wouldn't.

should i really sit back and not clog the lines with my calls?
i really could do with this settling i am loosing sleep now, i have done nothing wrong, and this claim has mirrored the last 4 years.

Just a quick question. Do your payments increase when the claim has been fully processed? im asking this because my renewal is in limbo:mad: and has been since may i am receving my payments still but they seem a little low to be honest just wondering do they pay them slightly lower until the renewal is fully completed??:money:

from april they pay provisional payments based on what you had previously estimated your 09-10 income would be. you may have a provisional award notice which would tell you what income figures they are currently using, if the actual income declared on renewal is lower than estimated income then your payments will be increased once renewal is complete.

This is not entirely true, my income was £3,700 lower than what I actually earnt and my payments have dropped. When I contacted them I was told that they don't always use the last tax years renewal!

Saving mad I waited 14 weeks for my renewal to be finalised, no specialist renewal letter or nothing recieved and I happened to call them and was advised that it was finally processed. I know exactly how you feel the last 10 weeks of waiting were extremely stressful.
