i dunno wot takes so long, 6 weeks ago i sent in the stuff they requested - letter from childcare provider and P45 but have not heard anything!!
wot exactly do they do when they receive it ?? surely if they ring to confirm with the childcare provider - that only takes 5 mins??? and a p45 is self explanatory
any1 know what they do with the info when they receive it???0 -
"any1 know what they do with the info when they receive it?"?? Well first of all they get a cup of coffee, then they read info you have sent, this is passed over to Fred who is working his way through the "what do I do with this tray". Fred has no idea either so passes it onto another department. Two months later claimant is still phoning to ask what has happened to their renewal. Fred denies all knowledge of ever having seen info sent
Seriously though, this is getting beyond a joke. Yesterday, I sent a letter to my MP. Hopefully, she will be able to help me. After almost 10 weeks of waiting I've given up! I'll let you know what happens. As I said before, it might be around Christmas time.0 -

I'm so bloomin' mad! I received a letter this morning from Customer Services. This is in reply to my letter of complaint about the length of time I've been waiting for my renewal to be sorted. I sent this letter on 23 July. They aim to reply to my letter by 6 September!!! Meanwhile, if I need to tell them of changes or have any questions about my award, then they say to phone the Helpline number. This just confirms that they either can't read or haven't a clue what they are doing.
I'm too mad to ring the number of the top of their letter, I'll just forward it to my MP and let her see what so many people have to put up with :mad:0 -

That is bad Susan I finally recieved my award notice yesterday after 14wks, my earning was estimated at 3,700 more that what I earnt the lasst tax year, and they have paid me a an extra £151.
I called them yesterday to enquire about this and the guy told me that my award notice isn't based on my last tax year but the tax year before!!!! So what is the point of renewing anyway if they don't even use the figures that you submit!0 -
Well I finally got through to the 'specialist team' on tuesday, after 3 weeks of trying. Explained that they had our paperwork for over 10 weeks. Lady on the phone said 'we've written to you twice asking you to phone us but had no response from you'. Yeah right, do they think I'm totally stupid? She even suggested I should take up the issue with my post office if I hadn't received them, strange that theirs is the only letters I have trouble getting! I suggested they might try sending stuff out recorded, cue much huffing and coughing from lady on phone. ANyway, went through the claim and all done in 30 seconds. Total joke really, but having been self employed for 10 years its nothing I haven't come to expect from any department of HMRC.0

Hi,
I have sent my invoices in but cant find the contract all my nvoices state dates and hours so they said this is fine. Why dont they just contact the child care providers wouldnt this be easier??0 -
Ihatethree - I have a feeling that is what they will say to me when they eventually get off their backsides, that they have written to me asking me to phone. I've made it quite clear in my letter of complaint and letter to MP that no letter has been received asking me to ring anyone. Also, when you have phoned before, wouldn't it be on their screen that letters had been sent to you? Two letters gone astray? - yes, of course they have
Each day I morph more and more into Victor Meldrew :mad:0 -
Hi SusanM - Run out of steam trying to get thru to these 0845 nos. Left 2 messages for call back on progress from Specialist 'hot lines' they state they will return your call within 2 working days.....Oh really - Still no response...whats a girl to do....I haven't the energy at the moment to write to M.P. or to DWP -just had some shoulder surgery.... but I applaud you for your motivation - perhaps you can send some my way!!0

It's just beyond words isn't it Bernice. We run around like headless chickens and where does it get us? Absolutely nowhere  How they can treat people like this is beyond me. No company would last 5 mins treating people like this but they, on the other hand can do what they like. So many telephone numbers, so many departments and no one has a clue what is happening. Just let them stop my payments and the whatsit will hit the fan!!!
Good luck with yours. I bet you could do without all this after your surgery.0
