As I said in one of my previous posts, Helpline on Thursday did give me what they said was the number for the Specialist Team. I telephoned them yesterday. I did ask if they were the Specialist Team when I rang and they confirmed they were. Was told someone else needs to ring me. They couldn't give me the phone number as they haven't got it! Can be up to 7 days before they ring. Said I should have received a letter about it but no letter received.

apologies, im under the influence of a bottle of red now, i had read your original post earlier but forgot that bit.
hopefully you will get sorted soon, as someone said earlier as long as people have declared everything correct then there should be no real need to worry too much.

Tax credits renewal is doing my head in atm.

Had a letter saying they 'need more information' that I gave them! I'm sure the guy I spoke to was on Facebook or something, he sounded really distracted and obviously wrote everything in wrong :( It's easily sorted but that's just not the point :wall:

Delain - he was probably reading this topic and wishing he worked somewhere else! It really is like banging your head against a brick wall. Good luck!

I'll post when I get some news - might be around Christmas time though :D
  • well i asked for the specialist team number and they wouldnt give me it, which i said in my original post... Did i just get someone awkward or is there a reason for it ? & secondly isnt there several numbers for the specialist team?

Yes, there are a few seperate numbers for the 'specialist' renewals teams. As there are a large number of claims being looked into this year, then it is understandable that it will take some time to get through them. But as I have said, provided all your details are correct, I would not worry about the delay. The only reason to panic and get upset about it is if you have something to hide.

Gill, when Helpline gave me the number of the Specialist Team I was told there were three different numbers and it depended on the intial of your surname. I'm now wondering who it is who is supposed to be ringing me within 7 days as I spoke to Spec Team on Friday. :wall:

Well i tried asking once again asking for the phone number of the specialist team but to no avail, I cant understand why they wont give me the number, i must have something marked on my notes on their end saying !!!! this girl off as much as possible.. Its ridiculous and i may find myself sending a letter of complaint to them very soon... then again shelleps if they are saying its closed maybe thats why but then why would they not just say that, arrrggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. x

After Helpline had given me the number of who they said was the Specialist Team, they did say they close at 4.30pm. Now I'm still waiting for whoever it is to ring me and like you, I wasn't given their number. Maybe this is so they can check you are the person at the number you give - it had to be my landline number I gave them.

I did miss a withheld number at 11am today. Whether that was them or not I don't know. Mind you, I did say I'm out until 1pm and to ring after that time. The whole thing is a shambles
