I got through to the number that the lady give me yesterday, RESULT, and he said the same thing, its was not going to get finalised until i actually phoned the specialist team ... so all these weeks when ive been getting told its been getting processed was total rubbish and he also said if i hadnt phoned them ( the specialist team ) there was a risk of my money being stopped come the end of July.

Anyway susan m, I was wondering if you had heard anything yet, i totally understand your concern over the fact you could end up getting overpaid , The number i was given to ring was 0845 600 5254 I also have a list of other numbers ive collected from here.. Each office deals with people according to the 1st letter of their surname .... The numbers all start the same as in 0845 600 but then their is 5263, 5214, 5044, 5217, 5309, 5309.... I would suggest you keep badgering them, if you get through to one and its not right ask if they can give you the number that you should be ringing and tell them you dont want to wait for a phone call as your not always in so theres a good chance you would miss it.... Really hope you get this sorted hun.. xxx

Hi, How long did you wait between sending your renewal to being told to call the specialist team??? They received my renewal on the 5th of May and it is still being "processed". I called them again today and was told the same thing and I asked if I should be calling the specialist team and she replied no, there's nothing on your file! I am really confused!

Hi hun... THEY didnt tell me to ring... I kept phoning main helpline number and they kept saying it was getting processed, it wasnt though, the man in specialist told me that... anyway I phoned to renew on the 26th may so later then you, i kept saying to my partner somethings not right so i went through all the threads again and decided to ring the number mentioned above 0845600 5363, the lady their give me the blackpool number which is the same apart from 5254, i phoned them yesterday and left a message but decided to see if i could get through today and i did so im glad i just decided to go for it...
Just tell them you misunderstood the letter and thought you didnt necessarily have to phone the specialist line or that you mislaid the letter which resulted in you phoning the main line but you arent happy in the amount of time its taking.. it cant do any harm hun.. apart from to the phone bill.. i would have phoned every number if id had to luckily it only took the 2 numbers.. xxx

Hope you get sorted hun. x

Gill - that would be an idea to say I've misunderstood or lost the letter but the problem is....I've never had a letter off them LOL. Don't even know if they want me to phone or not. I've done my complaint letter and will post it if I don't hear from them by Friday. Thanks anyway!

Thanks for your reply, I have never received a letter!! I don't know what to do, whether to call back the main number or call the specialist team!

Sillyme, you appear to be in the same boat as myself! Disgusting isn't it? I think you have a couple of options. Either keep ringing if you have the time or do what I'm doing and put a complaint in writing with maybe a copy to your MP. They might just take more notice if they know a copy has gone to your MP. If writing, send it recorded delivery! With a letter you probably have more proof than phone calls which they can deny you ever made. Good luck.
  • Hi

Does anyone know how to work out hours for self employed reasons for tax credits. If you have a skill but only find a few big jobs during the year that make you a profit and the rest of the year you are looking for work but as work is thin on the ground don't find much what hours are your normal hours, the 30 plus you spent doing your normal work when you have it or just 16 a week looking for work during the year which of course isnt easy to prove, or can you only claim WTC for the quarter of the year you actually had actual paid work or is the profit for the whole year so you can claim for the whole year and how do you work out the average hours. Anyone who deals with tax credits if you could advise please or anyone who is self employed and in same boat

Help confused, if anyone can understand the above!!:(

    Thanks

Sillyme, I posted letter on Friday, 2nd class, recorded delivery so they should get it tomorrow. Copy sent to MP too. Mind you it might take them a week to open it, another week to read it, further week to decide what the problem is, two weeks to pass it around different departments and a month to reply :undecided. I'll post when I get a response from them and wish everyone a happy Christmas at the same time :D
