Onefortheroad & susanm I just tried that number and i had a lovely lady who said that i do need to phone the specialist line otherwise it wont get finalised, anyway she give me another number to ring which i had to leave a msg on as all lines are busy etc, so ive left my details and await them to phone me back apparently within 2 days, im so !!!!ed off that im having to see to all this myself... tax credits main line have been no assistance at all. hopefully things will get sorted sooner rather then later....

For goodness sake, I'm getting so  with the whole thing. That number...0845 600 5263 that I also rang on Friday, I was told by Helpline that it was the Specialist Team number. Is it not? The lady I spoke to on that number couldn't give me the number of the people I have to speak to as she said she didn't have it! Have I spoken to the Specialist Team or perhaps someone from out of space? Might get more joy speaking to little green men! Still no one has phoned me back.

My next payment is due tomorrow. I'll make sure it's gone into my bank account and then I'll ring again. I've held off writing to my MP or putting in a written complaint to Customer Services but if no joy tomorrow then I'm going to turn into Victor Meldrew!! It's ok some folk saying you have nothing to worry about but that's not the point.

not read all the thread but what are you getting so worked up about ,if you have renewed and still getting paid i cant see the problem ?

Oh silly me wanting to receive my award which I renewed by phone almost 2 months ago! Of course there is nothing wrong with Helpline having no idea what is going on. Nor is there a problem when I do actually phone another number they can't give me the number of who I actually have to speak to. Helpline saying the delay is because it's high value then being told that's incorrect. Yes, my payments haven't stopped but are they correct? I could be getting too much for all I know. No, nothing wrong at all. Shall I wait another 2 months perhaps and see if my award turns up? Oh yes, it's going really well :D

why the car Ins docs & car reg? What has that got to do with it?

I'm guessing they want to see them to make sure that your insurance is just in your name, and to see if your friend is on them and if there listed as your partner ect on them. Not really sure why they would want to see the reg doc's.

I got through to the number that the lady give me yesterday, RESULT, and he said the same thing, its was not going to get finalised until i actually phoned the specialist team ... so all these weeks when ive been getting told its been getting processed was total rubbish and he also said if i hadnt phoned them ( the specialist team ) there was a risk of my money being stopped come the end of July.

Anyway susan m, I was wondering if you had heard anything yet, i totally understand your concern over the fact you could end up getting overpaid , The number i was given to ring was 0845 600 5254 I also have a list of other numbers ive collected from here.. Each office deals with people according to the 1st letter of their surname .... The numbers all start the same as in 0845 600 but then their is 5263, 5214, 5044, 5217, 5309, 5309.... I would suggest you keep badgering them, if you get through to one and its not right ask if they can give you the number that you should be ringing and tell them you dont want to wait for a phone call as your not always in so theres a good chance you would miss it.... Really hope you get this sorted hun.. xxx

Had to lol at you speaking to the cleaner but on a more serious note im all for complaining. I think the letters that were sent out should have insisted that we phone the specialist line cos as i read it nothing on it give me the impression that it was a neccessity which is why mine went in the shredder...
And like you say, you may have got your payment today but if like me you are getting told its being processed when it actually isnt then theres a risk those payments could be stopped...
I really hope you get sorted out, if this was an exercise for the tax credit people to have an easier life then i think they have totally cocked up, there is so much being said about the whole mess all over the internet... Ive never had this problem ever, i was getting family credit b4 tax credits and it always sorted in a couple of weeks.....
Take care susan and i sincerely hope they dont take too long and you get a result.. xxx

Thanks Gill. I've never even received a letter. Maybe that cleaner was in charge of that too :D
