specialist team for tax credits renewal (merged)

Hi
Dont know if anyone can help as Ive tried for nearly 10 days to get specialist team to no avail, left message to ask to call me back few days later did and i missed call and they said would call again yesterday not called yest or today. You mayhave read my previous posts my husband stupidly didnt do a re registration for self employment so obviosuly specialist team couldnt see UTR number, what I want to ask is not he has backdated registration and HNRC say he can go and do full assessment so I can then send tax credits exact verified income earnings for last year and send them paperwork to prove earnings i suppose its equivalent of a paye p60 for the self employed does anyone know if this would be enough.
Earlier post by taxcredithelp said this should be sufficient for tax credits purpose if HMRC are letting him backdate registration but he/she doesnt seem to come on here for a long while since.
Anyway does anyone else know??
Thanks0 -
I contacted tax credits again today, and still no reward being processed. I have now been waiting 9 weeks! and was advised that there is no time limit!!
Anyone else still waiting??0 -

Is there any reason yours would be taking so long? Is it complicated? Is there a lot to check out?0 -

I renewed by phone 6 weeks ago. Previous years I've received my award notice within a week. I phoned the helpline number after 3 weeks and was told it was delayed because it was a high level award. I've worked out my award should be £4490 so not sure why they say it's high level. I phoned again last week and they said they have all the information, it's gone to their Head Office to be approved. I've had no changes in my circumstances at all.
This is just ridiculous. It's a nighmare trying to get through on the helpline number. Listening to the long recorded message and getting to where you need to be and then you get told "all our advisors are busy on other calls".
Five years ago they stopped my payments without telling me. First I knew about it was when I checked my bank statement and was overdrawn. I got absolutely nowhere with them. Contacted my MP, Welfare Rights and in the end the Health Service Ombudsman. It turned out their computer had got my bank account number wrong. They paid me £90 in compensation! I just hope nothing like that happens again.0 -

you're getting almost £100 per week tax credits per week and you dont believe this is a high award? obviously its smaller than some awards but still a significant amount of money i would say.0 -
