just gave them a ring, they said that its sat in a queue waiting to be manually dealt with. havent had that before, last year i did return to work and use two childcare providers so i guess it stands to reason. they couldnt give a timescale either. I did notice they have put a new option on the helpline 'To check the progress of your renewel', and it says that you must wait three weeks before calling them.0 -

The provisional award is not the final award. Ive had 2 of these already and im still waiting for one of my documents to be sent back. As far as im aware your award will not be finalised till you have actually spoken to this team. Im still waiting on my final award and ive had an extra payment too but its not finalised.
My advice would be to phone the specialist team as thats why you will have been sent a provisional just now.
Good luck:)
I didn't actually speak to anyone at the specialist team despite having a letter from them. I renewed via tha normal line, a few weeks later got a letter from specialist team requesting child care details and P60 and a phone number so they could contact me - I sent all info as requested and have since received my final award notices. I have not spoken to any one at the specialist team.0 -
Hi am new to this so here i go.. made my renewal over the phone back in April have just received a letter from specialist team in belfast asking for child care recipts and contract and p60.. I dont have any receipts or contract and really worried have not slepted all week. have 3 children and will be having my 4th in 7 weeks am already stressed and can not afford for them to stop my money.. Has anyone called them and beeen able to sort it out over the phone or do I need this paper work.. Could kick myself as never asked for receipts before and never thought.. Dont know what to do..
I got asked for the same info. I contacted the childcare provider and she provided me with a receipt of amount I had actually paid for the requested period. Explained didn't have a contract - reason being the child care is via the school kids club that me son attends and I sent my P60. Less than 10 days later received final award notice - my advice would be send info as requested, if you are unable to contact them and explain why.0 -

hi all
Just an update
Got a letter from specialist team this morning along with my council tax bill returned saying that they have completed their checks in full and my final award notice is on its way. :T
Im so relieved. This has been a fairly stressful few weeks but im glad its sorted. Hope everyone gets sorted.:)0 -
hi without reading thru all the the threads my initial interest is just what this specialist renewals team in belfast is all about.
I have been fighting a claim for my tax credits after my partner moved in and it was necessary to to a change of circumstance.
after 8 weeks they finally paid us out but now I have received this letter.
I am now paranoid that these are fraud investigators, tho we have done nothing wrong and are above board - but it is still a worry when you get letters from this.
Being self employed has been the worse thing I ever did. Disabled as I am, pride wont let me give in and so I claim disabled tax credits and work 16+ hours a week.
Just not worth the hassle!!! its no wonder that so many dont bother. I am worse off, hassled by the authorities and generally thinking of closing the business.
Thanks for your advice in advance:A0 -

Hello all. I sent my form back in the envelope provided (even though I had received letter from specialist team) a couple of weeks ago. On Friday I got some random money in my bank account from Tax Credits. After reading this post I assumed I was going to be asked for lots of documents of proof before anything was done by them? I have had no notifications through post from them, I am a bit confused! Aren't they asking eveyone for proof documents? I had already started collecting it together for them!0
