Well my alternative is to come back from mid October and work until Christmas but 3 days a week, taking 2 days holiday a week - then regardless of what they say about paying back my OMP, I wouldn't have to - unless it's longer than 2/3 months that I have to be back for.

We thought that might work out better anyway as our mortgage will be up for renewal in January 2012 and it might be better to have 2 full time wages when we try and get a decent rate.

I'm worried that I'll get stuck in a rut though, I've been here 8 and a half years already and was hoping this would be the kick I would need to finally get out :(

Total £4151.44 | £2900.30 of £7051.74 paid off since diary started October 2024.

I will also have to pay my occupational maternity pay back if I don't return for at least 3 months (though I may not have a job to go back to, but that's another story!). I chatted to friends and on here and have decided to finish 4 weeks before due date - 2 weeks annual leave then start maternity 2 weeks before due date. But I have a long commute and am struggling even now.

I asked for a meeting with HR and they sat and went through the dates etc with me.

My commute isn't long but it's still a 15 minute walk to the train station, 30 minutes on the train then 15 minutes at the other end - it's long enough even now ;) I think I will probably do what you're doing - although then I'll be finishing on New Year's Eve which means no one will be around to go for lunch with!

Snap! about paying back occupational maternity and about maybe not having a job to go back to!! They have just announced 25% redundancies and everyone will have to re-apply for their jos in november when i will have a month old baby and complete baby brain! Great fun!!
I think you are doing the right thing taking leave and then maternity and working from home as much as you can. Im amazed how much my stress levels have dropped since i haven't had to actually go into work. I didnt realise how stressed i was until i stopped.

    Morning all hope your ok.

Sir M hope your out of hosp soon.

I woke up again with a migraine, all dosed up on pain killers now. So hope this goes before I go into labour, don't think I could concentrate with the way my heads been. Starting to feel like my bodys forgot it needs to evict this baby, had no pains/ contractions for days. I don't really feel pregnant bar the big belly! I can see my due date will pass by without a twinge! I knew this baby would be lazy like it's dad!

They have said it is pre-eclampsia, obviously stressing now. Your right doesn't help him stressing/going mad, he isn't here at the mo which I am quite glad about in a way as like you said would be stressing me out. Need to relax and get off google as b/p will be checked soon . .

right, I've just bought a watermelon (Apparently it does something, worth a shot), I've bought tinned pineapple slices for tonight and tomorrow morning, I'm going to treat OH to a curry tomorrow and he's sorting me out tonight. :D

Going into town later to find some Sage oil stuff. Look at me go :D
