maddog I was told between 4 and 7 for my levels but keeping it under 8/9 was nearly impossible and it did just get worse the further on I got, I was insulin controlled once diagnosed and it was upped every week. The only time my levels were low was just before lunch when they always drop way below the 4. I was very good with my eating especially with DS as I'd had experience by then but still couldn't keep them down. All back to normal as soon as the baby is out though - its so weird.

2girls thanks for that, I knew when I was pregnant with DS they said it was not as high as the diagnosis but high enough because of my history, then once I was finger !!!!! testing and on the insulin and it wouldn't stay down it was obvious really. I did think your result seemed high - I think if mine had been that high they would probably have diagnosed already but I really don't get it till 28 weeks. That's when it showed up in my urine with DD. I was hoping with my 16 week result I might not get it this time but realistically I know its unlikely, trying to keep my exercise up and diet as healthy as I can though.

Plymouth I have never had that but I have closed the windows a bit so they don't let the gale in the last couple of nights. I'm one who rarely wears a coat too, only in the snow or rain.

I'm off work today having a mid-week break but fortunately don't feel too tired so might get some jobs done, unlike how I was this time last week. I finish on friday so only 14 hours left to work:eek: I'm feeling a bit panicky about it because I have so much to do before I finish. But I'm really ready to finish as its getting tiring, so I'll just have to do what I can and come 4.30 friday I think I'll be able to put it all out of my mind and relax. Just need to not let the panic spoil today!

MOTM - if your OH feels sick first thing try eating before she gets up. I had a friend who did that (I think she kept biscuits by her bed) then waited a little while to have effect, if she didn't she'd be sick as soon as she got up. Also I swear having protein for breakfast made a huge difference to how I felt in the early weeks - you sound like a lovely man who would be happy to make her breakfast:):)

14 hours left until you go on maternity leave? A hint of excitement amongst that panic i'd imagine?

I'll get her to try the biscuit thing. She's been okay the last couple of mornings. Protein....will see what she thinks.

This is a lovely lady who has come into our lives and taken over the role of mother to 7 girls with no qualms and i've seen my girls grow as a result of it in the past 8 months, so I dote on her. Breakfast is no problem at all - i'm used to making it for loveable little madams, 1 more (or 2 depending on how you look at it) isn't an issue.

And anyway, i'd be lost if I had no-one to run around after/for :rotfl:

    morning all

hope everyone slept ok. I've been awake since 6 which is annoying as I could have done with a couple more hours!

plymouth - i've never had that either. It's probably nothing but you can always ring the midwife just to ask.

Need to quickly shower and crack on with work, dad arrives about 3 so I need to finish early today.

    Hello :hello:

Well I'm going to ring the physio lady at Bournemouth before I try the GP, as I think the physio will have a better idea of what it is although I think Lilac Pixie is probably right and there's not much point me taking an urgent GP appointment (I still don't see how they can have no normal appointments for a week?!) that someone else needs more.

It felt funny all night, did my head in! It made turning over in bed into a 3 point turn!

MDW: I'd be overjoyed if they induced me on my due date. Sad but true, can hardly move as it is, my nan has said she will have my girls fro the first 3 days they go back to school, think they go bac on the 3rd? I can't expect her to have them indefinitely and I'm not up for hours of bus trips every day now, never mind after my due date, I feel hot and woozy if I stand up for too long :(

Right, today is THE day ladies :D I need to do things to get the baby out by tomorrow. If I start at about 10 tonight that will give me 2 hrs tonight and then a full 24 hrs for her to be born on the 13th ;)

Any Ideas ladies? I've already said to OH he's banging me senseless tonight ;) Might even see if he can give me a DIY sweep. Dunno if it'll creep me out though. Also is clary sage good to use?

I know what will happen though...I'll do all this, then I'll start at 11pm tomorrow night and she'll be born on the 14th :rotfl:

Come on ladies :D Help me get tomorrows date :D :rotfl: also need to find a stick to beat smartie off from the birth pool :rotfl:

  • Morning ladies, labour vibes nene.

Slept well at the hospital, been awake since 7ish had small brekkie but think will waddle down to the hospital main bit in about an hour to grab a decaf coffee and a chocolate treat as hungry again - joys of hospital small portions. Have ordered 'large' for everything now!! My BP is down to 135/90 so hopefully it stays lower then I can be home tonight. I'm just getting bored and have a feeling will end up doing lots of online shopping if I'm not out soon.

Boss has come good...a reply to my email saying I'd left him the special leave form which said
    'Rachel,
having read the extract from the maternity policy, I think they are wrong, I wouldn't bother with the special leave, provided you are only booking a 7 hour day I can't see a problem.'

    Hooray!

I saw Ann Dennis last time and she was great, she said I was a good patient as well which is always nice :) I'm quite flexible and am hypermobile in some of my joints, she mentioned that something in my back 'clicked' when I was there and did it hurt, sounded odd to me because my ankles, wrists and shoulders click all the time and I never thought anything of it :o Apparently I'd be ok if I needed manipulating?

Spoke to a nice man this morning who said I probably have caught a nerve in my back, to arch my back a couple of times an hour and sit up straight with a large rolled up towel in the arch of my back to try and keep it straight. :T:T

At least my leg isn't going to fall off :rotfl:
