    hi all

quick update from Sir M - I've only just seen that she texted at lunchtime, she's still in but hoping bp will come down so she can get home. Has had a scan and growth has slowed a bit but still ok.

I have just had to fill out a 2 page form to get time off for my physio...apparently it's not covered by normal ante natal stuff so i have to get special leave! wish I'd never asked and just gone!!

I am heading home soon, been here since 8.30! No doubt I'll be on later as DH will be fiddling with the new pc again!!

delain hope your leg is ok.

the physio is covered under normal ante-natal stuff if its antenatal/maternity/obesteric physio - its called many a thing but is different to normal physio and is def covered anything medical or would benefit you in pregnancy recommeneded by your gp or midwife is covered - including aquanatal, yoga, ante-natal classes.

That's what I thought, bloody HR administrator is wrong then! I said it was for a condition that I've only got because of pregnancy. I knew she was wrong. Oh well, think the special leave is paid anyway so shouldn't matter. annoying though, HR people should know their stuff. My manager was happy when I quoted the policy at him, not sure why I bothered checking with HR :o

Does anyone know where the legislation for this is? I can correct them tomorrow if so as it's a pain getting the special leave has to be signed off by half the council!

To be fair my boss has been very good, I know he's not keen on the working from home thing but he knows he's had to let me and has been v relaxed about it all. Think they can see I'm struggling to walk so they know I'm making the effort to work still when I could just go off sick!

  • Good news I'm on line :j:j:j

Bad news I'm still stuck in the hospital  Despite being on meds since last night my B/P is still a little raised, well it started to go down last night after reaching a peak of 160/120 (this was when I was very stressed as no-one was telling me anything!!) but it has gone back up again to a new peak this evening of 150/90 (I think). My usual BP is 120/70. I really do think though it isn't help by the lack of info that I get as have been stuck here all day not really knowing what is going on and we were waiting ages for a scan. Bubs is fine, not that small but has stopped growing as much due to high b/p. At least have laptop and internet now so should help me feel better . .

Rach i would ask them to put it down at antenatal time as if it goes down as special leave it will go on your sickness records where as they arent allowed to do that with anything connected to your pregnancy.

Sir monster sorry your still stuck in hospital i hope your blood pressure comes down soon and you can get back to relaxing. if they are not explaining things properly then demand that they tell you what is going on it wont do you anygood sitting there worrying about what ifs :-) x

Thanks, Problem is HR have said special leave and I then did the form and left it for my boss. I will ask HR to double check, will see if I can find legislation etc.

 to sir monster, nice to see you here even if from your sick bed.

  • Merfe - 9.1 is when they class it as gestational diabetes.... after reading that your test was only 5.8 at 16 weeks and you still developed it me thinks I am definitely looking that way :(.

Fasting reading was only 4.9 which they told me was perfect - actually really lucky that the MW that deals with all the diabetes stuff is almost a friend - not that I get any preferential treatment, just that it makes me so much more at ease when asking stuff..
